Interplay is reborn: Check out this image of greatness photo

Set your phasers to "unrealistic nostalgia-driven hope," for Interplay is about to return and, if this teaser image from Interplay.com is to be believed, it's bringing back some total classics.

We already knew that Interplay was looking to revive its in-house studio with the money made from Fallout 3, and now it looks like a definite go. I still don't care what anybody thinks, I will get on my hands and knees and lick new Earthworm Jim greatness off the dusty floor, regardless of whether or not it can live up to expecatations.

Right now, the teaser image is all that we have, so stay tuned for more announcements soon. Unless of course, the above image and site is a dirty fake, then stay tuned for me shaking my fist at the Internet in a fruitless attempt to make it feel ashamed.

If they sign up with Volition again to produce a new Freespace game I will ruin my keyboard with...sticky whiteness.

YUCK!

But seriously we need a new Freespace game yesterday.

How many bloody studios have developed MDK? Everyone has had a hand in that game series; Planet Moon, Bungie, Bioware, Neversoft, Shiney and now I hear of Interplay being involved?

Well, I'd love to see a sequel to MDK, even though i never finished the first two, they were super fun games.

@Uglyphil

Shiney is the only developer to work on MDK, Interplay published it.

MDK 3, EWJ 2, please make these games happen interplay.

Oh and Clayfighters 4 would be awesome too.

Considering all the people who made these games good in the first place are now gone, I can't wait for poor reserections of decades old IP's by a company that already died once. Earthworm Jim 64 part 2 oh yay!

I agree: MDK 3, EWJ 2, and Clayfighter 4 (C4?) would all be awesome choices.

That's a shit load of win in that picture there. I know this hope is utterly vain, but more infinity engine games please. Interplay were perhaps the greatest western RPG publisher ever.

Yeah, the SNES and Genesis EWJ 1 + 2 were good. The Gameboy, GBA, and N64 titles were supposed to be big piles of nuts.

This is either a fake or the person at Interplay who made that teaser image is a thief.

By chance I was searching on Google earlier for images of construction and came across the following image:

Take note of that yellow & black bit at the bottom.

http://www.interplay.com/images/comingsoon.jpg
Now look at the Interplay image, it uses the exact same part from the above image.

Also the coming soon looks like it was written in MS paint.

If this is real and they do come back I hope they're art department is a bit more bloody skilled than the lazy bastard who made this teaser image.
