Internet dramas: Gamecock's CEO Mike Wilson responds to John Romero's disses

Well isn't this just getting interesting? Yesterday, we informed you of John Romero's recent calling out of Gamecock main man Mike Wilson. Well, Mike Wilson has responded to John's statements by sending a letter to Kotaku:

While I am not at all interested in reliving those days, I will also not allow you to rewrite the history of it all, more to your liking and to my public detriment, and I will in no way take the rap for what you did (or didn't do)with your dream company. So here are just a few reminders to jog your memory ...

... Our former employee also reminded me that I fought on a daily basis to try to save that company from the poison which you had invited into it (and watched spread like a cancer while you kept your head in the sand), only to find myself ushered out the door, since it was such a buzz kill to hear my incessant complaints about the way things were being run, which were really those of the 80 or so young fresh faced developers we hired in the 10 months I was there.

The letter is fairly long and goes into great detail between Mike and John's relationship with Ion Storm. The letter also gets really nasty towards the end when Mike brings Johns personal life to light:

... left only a bloody trail of ex-wives, fatherless kids, and ill advised breast implants strewn across this fair nation, even before you flew all the way to Romania for your latest wife ...

OK, I know exactly how to bring about peace between these two: LOOK AT THAT ADORABLE PUPPY! It's so cute!

What? Not good enough? OK, well how about this: STFUAJPG (or in this case, put-out games). Gamecock is building hype and awareness for themselves, which is what an indie company needs to do. The games are coming, slowly but surely. I think Mike went way too far at the end of the letter with the whole personal life attack, but the rest of it seems justified. Also, what's John been up to in the videogame world? No, really, I have no idea. I'm not trying to diss him but should he even be attacking Mike for no reason at all when he hasn't put out anything in awhile himself? Of course, only the small circle that was Ion Storm really knows anything about all this hateorade.

How do you feel about all this? Think Romero was justified? Think Mike was right? Think they should all burn in hell for Daikatana

[Image via Cute Overload and has nothing to do with anything. I just thought it was a nice counter balance to all the negativeness from the post. I'm so thoughtful.]
