Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Judging by the catchy tune of the aptly titled Ballz video, one might get the impression that the boys and girls of Insomniac are catering to our Rock Star aspirations as part of some recruitment drive -- they sure seem to know how to pamper their employees.

Be that as it may, we all know the real reason behind the propaganda: Resistance 2. But there's no shame in Insomniac's game, and thankfully for us, they make no attempts to hide it. I'm not exactly the Matlocking type, but did you happen to catch the monitor with the numbers 0708 on it? Not sure exactly what that means, but our faces just got rocked.

[Thanks, Adam!]

Hahaha...“happy endings only happen in our games”, lol.

0708...July 2008 release date for Resistance 2? That’s gotta be way too soon for something that we recently saw the first screens of, right?

All I learned from that video was that no one at Insomniac can sing. But they all love air guitar.

They killed Spyro, they have every reason to leap into a vat of sulfuric acid.

@NightDehumidifier: Um, Insomniac didn’t kill Spyro — they just sold off the IP to Universal after Spyro: Year of the Dragon, which some would argue was the last awesome Spyro game. Then again, I haven’t played any of the games in the series since then.

my job is about the same. alot of entertainment jobs are awesome like that. its usually to make up for long hours, which I wouldn't be surprised if insomniac has long hours cause every place does.

I should clarify: that’s Universal Studios.

@NightDehumidifier: Insomniac didn't kill Spyro. All three of their Spyro games were great. Universal killed Spyro.

@BrOnXbOmBr21 - July isn't too soon for a public beta test...especially considering that's the month of E3. Sony has already said that Killzone 2 would have a public beta and past Ratchet and Clank online titles have had private betas (I was in the Up Your Arsenal beta) so it's pretty likely Resistance 2 will have some kind of beta.

I love Insomniac. I truly did want to work for them for quite some time, but that ended when I realized at Cal State Long Beach that I did not want to program. I still love them, they're an awesome company.

@skullivan: Yeah, a beta makes more sense. I’d be very surprised if Resistance 2 came out before November.

They left Spyro out to die. They are murderers. They'll do the same to Ratchet, you'll see in five years.
