God, I sound awful for saying this, but I honestly couldn't tell the two presenters apart. It always seemed like the guy who wasn't Mr. Pointy Head had some kind of unrequited love thing going; where he would just copy his friend's clothes and hair in a fairly obsessive way. I'm sure they made a joke about it, too...but on the inside, I'm betting Not Mr. Pointy Head was a sad to know his love was being ridiculed.

Still, I loved Rob Florence's song about Apple Jack on The Independint (sic) Charles Show. How he managed to get those lyrics through without any censoring is mind-boggling. He should have done more shows, but I guess nobody gave a toss about it.

That sucks! The show was great. Although I admit I stopped watching it after the most recent dash update. I think that's why they're cancelling it. People stopped watching it because they buried it away in an inconvenient obscure place. Because of that poor design decision we lose some great entertainment and some talented people lose their jobs. Brilliant.

No! Dan and Andy were great. They did make some rather incriminating jokes about Microsoft from time to time, and the dashboard burying was probably the death of their shows. A real shame, but I'm sure they'll find new work in no time at all. Best of luck to them.

Ah, The Independent Charles Show - It's nice to know other people have actually seen it. I was beginning to think it was all an hallucination.

For all that I seem to do nothing but take the piss out of 'MrPointyHead' and his erm, sidekick, it's a shame they're joining the dole queue. Will they be replaced by more adverts? I don't think we have enough of those on xbox yet.

Massive shame. To be honest I didn't even know they were still making them, but with the dashboard as it is it's not surprising.

Big shame. The Inside Xbox guys are one of the reasons I typically keep my network cable plugged into my 360 rather than into my PS3. The opener of the 4th series of SentUAMessage still makes me giggle like a silly little schoolgirl. It already sucked enough that the dashboard has been hacked up and switched around so much that I now no longer know where anything is, and I have to scroll through several pages of adverts and Zune shit before I can get to the marketplace (let alone free content), but to take out more or less the only thing that set XBL apart from PSN is crazy. I wasn't paying for XBL just to watch their content, but still, this does give me even more reason to question why I am paying Microsoft for their service when it is now functionally identical to Sony's free one. If anything, XBL now has more adverts clogging everything up.

@MasterBalls is that the one where the dark-haired woman reads video game manuals out loud in a monotone slur or is that the one where the blonde, but otherwise completely identical, woman reads out week-old news headlines in a monotone slur? I honestly cannot remember which of IGN's video series is which.

Microsoft please take note: You're starting to push a 9 year XBL loyal to consider canceling his service. I've had a good experience on XBL from day one, but over the last few months you've been fucking that up beyond all recognition.

As Microsoft cuts back on the social aspect of their game marketing, they are jeopardizing what little good will they have with their community. Not sure the pointy head managers at the place understand that video games != corporate software. That whole MBA crap of concentrating on your core values, minimum viable product, etc is just that, crap when it comes to the fickle video game market. We've seen an exodus of community celebrities from Microsoft lately, to MS's detriment. The next console won't be a sure thing for microsoft and they'll be left wondering why they can't connect to their customer base.

I'll admit that I'm not surprised that this stuff got canned on either side of the pond, but the new dashboard is a terrible place for a slew of original content unless they were going to shove it all haplessly into the "video" tab or make it its own thing, which would just have others wanting their own thing too.

But, I'll also admit to watching some of the stuff on the US side of things, sometimes.. Usually it was Nelson's thing, most of the time for ways to use the 360 better, like setting up the UI keyboard to be qwerty.

Either way I'm still waiting for them to can the community spotlight if they haven't already, which is -for some unknown reason- shoved in the back side of the games marketplace...You know, instead of finding a place in the social section, where one would assume it'd be.

Yet again a sign MS is more for TV than gaming. 360 is now officially a TV box. RIP gaming on 360.

The shows on IXUK were and integral part of Microsoft's community interaction. They had something unique, when I think of people relating to Xbox I think of Dan, Andy and Larry. I can't think of anyone relating to other consoles, apart from Setoru Iwata and Shigeru Miyamoto, but they are more elusive.

On a corperate level, yes it makes sense. With the whole video encoding case with Motorola I see where this is all coming from. But to outright cancel something that is influenced by your paying (underlined, exclamation, huge letters) community is just plain blind.

And yes, it will most likely be replaced with adverts. We pay near on £40 a year, most of us (myself included) for a very long time, so why dump irrelevant rubbish on paying customers? My thoughts are with everyone affected, I'm sure they will find something soon.

I don't use Xbox anymore except for ME3 and Skyrim. I avoid that shitty dashboard update as much as possible.

It doesn't help when you HIDE all the shit behind fucking ads. Micrsoft doesn't know what the fuck it's doing now, what the hell.

Less original content, much more advertising... Why am I paying £40 squid a year for this again? I honestly can not see any justifiable reason as to why I am paying for their services? Lovefilm streaming is something I pay lovefilm for, I pay the BBC a tv license to watch terrestrial channels, I pay SKY to watch digital... What in gods name am I paying Microsoft for???

I also pay BT for my Internet usage and speeds and I pay the game developers the £40 new or £8 used to keep their servers and online function going... So again, why do I pay Microsoft anything?? Also the deals of the week have gotten far worse over the last few months, where as PSN plus is getting far far better (I think I got 5 games "free" this month)
