Eidos Interactive has just released an enchilada of new screenshots for the best Mexican theme-based video game title ever concieved: Chili Con Carnage for (unfortunately to most) the PSP. The images sport crisp character designs, crap background textures, and a variety of very silly hats. The trailer does a much better job of selling the game; it's amazing how far a funny title is carrying this UMD. Don't hate me for being so excited about this game ... I'm just stealing other video game journalist's yobs.
Seriously though, do we have any Mexican readers out there? I'm curious if the people of taco birthright find this game offensive in any way. ¿Dimelo -- te pica el fondillo on no?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
I can't wait for other mexicans to get offended by it, you can count on that happening for sure. Fucking idiots.
Look pretty funny, and over the top! My kind of humor!
Too bad I don't own a PSP and have no plans to.

Reminds me of a piece that Nelson and Natalie did last week on the Planet Xbox 360 Podcast. The question was posed to Ubisoft by a listener, why do you hate Mexico so much? G.R.A.W., G.R.A.W.2, and the opening scene in R6 Vegas take place there...
When someone mentions "mexican" a lot of them think about "sombreros, tacos, tequila" problem is that all those people are ignorants, yes, Mexico is a poor country, but a lot of people here live in the same way as a lot of americans and canadians and look the same way as them. , I cant understand why do you think that all mexicans look that way... its stupid, people need to know more about culture
Mmm..it appears that the angry readers have come =O.
It's not like the US is the only one that thinks about us that way.
Mmm..it appears that the angry readers have come =O.
Anyway, I don't care about this game but it's not really offensive. Although I'm pretty sure it won't sell shit.

It's fundillo btw.
I know he can't, that's why i asked ;).
<(It's a joke, don't get all worked up)>
Who's the dumb one now?
and btw, who cares if he spelled fundillo wrong...we aren't in Mexico so nobody cares.
Pistolero, yo si estoy en Mexico =O
Pero igual, tampoco me importa :p
I myself am irish. I'd wager the first thing that pops into your head when you read that is copious drinking. It doesn't bother me, I actually regard it as pretty funny. Besides, it's largely true; I'd say 75% of my friends would be classed as alcoholics by some people(they're not, but some people just don't know how to party). Most stereotypes are rooted in fact(ableit often outdated fact). Accept those aspects of your culture exist, and try to have a sense of humour.
Agree, in our case is the "revolucionario" appearance, and well... we do like tacos and tequila =D
As mentioned before, mexicans are not really like that. I do enjoy Robert Rodriguez' work (El Mariachi, Desperado, Once Upon a Time in Mexico) although lots of people feel offended by it as well. Funny thing, Antonio Banderas is actually spaniard, not mexican.
I did find Mel Gibson's approach of the Mayans in Apocalypto a little bit racist and biased but then again, what can we expect from an alcoholic/crazed christian.
I might be picking this game, I'll wait for the reviews to come in.
He dicho.
P.S. No me pica el fundillo.
Mexicotoid...destructoid in spanish...doesn't sound like a bad idea, there aren't a lot videogame news site in spanish that i know of.
Those pics are hilarious.
They should sell the game for $3.99 at Taco Bell.
That mexican lasagna looks good =O

Shameless plug aside. I've already said this game is a remake of -Total Overdose- not a bad game, sort of GTA meets Max Payne, just a bit mediocre around the edges.
100% Mexican, not offended, we are Mexican machos not Jack Thompson like pantsies, However when offended we wont sue, we just show up in in the middle of the night armed with a machete and a grim.>:)
And yeah aparently every time someone tries to make a Mexican impression they get stucked in Tijuana and never reach the larger cities down south, I wonder why? ...
Yeah, MexicoToid would rule over all the other sites.
@Azrael
Ha ha, yeah... Tijuana has a tendency to trap tourist souls.
DESTRUCTOIDE-suave!
