Innex releasing two new systems for Genesis games photo

Innex has announced a couple of new systems they're releasing that comes packed full of licensed Sega games.

First up is their portable handheld unit which has 20 Sega games built in. It will include Sonic and Knuckles, Ecco, Golden Axe and more all displayed on a 2.4" LCD screen. The unit will sell for $49.99.

Their other system is the Firecore Classic Console that can play most of your old Genesis games and includes 20 Genesis games as well. The system will also retail for $49.99.

Both systems will be out next week. I usual steer clear from these type of consoles, mostly because I'm OCD and must have the original console or game (I won't even play emulated games on the PC). The handheld unit does seem pretty nice though.

Nice for anyone wanting to play Pier Solar on console but doesn't have their old system.

These have been out in the uk for a while now, I've got the console version and it's pretty cool but with a couple of games the sound goes all janky, however this could be the cartridges themselves (which have been on a shelf for years) and nothing to do with the actual console itself.

All this stuff is licensed from At@Games, a Chinese company that has the rights to a bunch of old Sega stuff there. You can get it pretty cheap from Play-Asia.com I bought the portable one there. It broke after 2 weeks.

While I do appreciate that this could get more people into classic 16-bit games, I'd rather play on the original hardware.

oh that's weird they didnt do a master/genesis combo like they did with the retro duo nes/snes combo?

My retro duo is coming in shortly!! FC, SFC, NES, SNES games can all be played on it and it's only $35!

I'm with you, Hamza... For the most part, I steer clear of those weird console deals and rarely play emulated games.
Ain't nothing like the real thing, baby! That's why I'm lucky to still have most of my old systems and games...
I really wanna get one of those sweet NES top loaders(NES 101 model), but I always get out bid last second on ebay. Damn.
Also, the dog bone NES controllers are amazing.

@Holyetheline

There was the official Sega Nomad that was a handheld that played Sega Genesis titles. I don't know when you were a kid but it came out in 1995.

@peachboy

"us folks"? "alert the children"? Are you dumb or just 12? You obviously know nothing about the Sega Genesis or it's titles. Most titles on the Sega Genesis are far superior to most of the titles on the current gen systems.

bustaballs, he means that it's not for the folks who own a Genesis already and have played all the fantastic games on it.

"The children" means the people who grew up on the XBox and Playstation, and have thusly not had the chance to play the classics.

Is this the handheld that you can insert full size Mega Drive games into? or is that a different one - as a student without a TV handhelds are better for me right now.
