I dig the idea behind the marketing but this actually makes me want to *not* pre-order it. Sorry in advance for being a hater.

The auto-tuned headset doesn't work with xbox live...what the hell? That is what it says on gamestop, does it work with PlayStation network?

This might be the first special edition I get in ages. Also, does this mean that the Man-a-pult isn't in the main game without the DLC?
The headset doesn't work with xbox or playstation, it requires a 3.5 mm jack, or smartphone use only, you can read the fine print in their little picture of it.
Hopefully the manager I'm friends with will get me one for free.

If the headset worked with PSN I'd be all over this one. Oh well, maybe I'll pick it up when the Platinum Edition hits regular retail price like I did with Saints Row 2.
I want to see if I could get a 3.5 to 2.5 jack converter to use that headset on xbox live... might work that way.

All you need is a 3.5mm to 2.5mm converter jack, problem solved!. It's not that it isn't compatible with Xbox Live, it's that as it stands, it doesn't have the right connector to plug into the headset port on your controller.
It won't work for PS3, though, because it doesn't use a headset port.

Just my own personal view here, as someone who is looking forward to this game, the marketing in this instance is a total miss.
I'm sure they want me to think about (and hopefully later) arranging a pre=order... but all I'm thinking about now is wanting to go home and play Techno Kitten Adventure.

Sold. I have no idea what this Professor Genki guy is, but I'm sold on this and the collectors edition.
i'm going to buy the collectors' edition, because it's pretty. the headset looks nice, but i'm sure it's shitty quality. even though they look like beats by dre, they're not gonna sound anything like them. but built-in autotune? okay. my body is ready.
