It's time for one of those "wow" moments that crop up in this industry so often these days. It would seem that Robert Bowling, community manager at Infinity Ward, is sick to death of Activision's Noah Heller comparing Call of Duty: World at War with his own studio's Modern Warfare. So sick, in fact, that he has demanded Heller stop on his personal blog.
If I see one more Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare google alert come through my inbox, that ends up being a COD:WaW article that is only showing up because YOU referenced Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare more times than you mention World At War ...
Especially when you’re pulling shit out of your ass. Come on man, interview about your game. Not OURS! Call of Duty: World at War can stand on it’s own merits, leave ours out of it.
Bowling's outrage has been tipped over the edge by Heller talking about bolt-action rifles in previous Call of Duty games, suggesting that only in World at War are they one-hit kills like they should be. Here was his answer to Noah's claim:

The IW community rep has suggested that "Senior Super Douche Noah Heller from Activision" needs to stop being given interviews, since he "has never played the game and doesn't even work at the developer." Very strong, very angry words. I'm all for crapping on Activision, but damn ... how long is he going to be keeping that job?

I am struggling to believe that someone would genuinely go on such a rant about a person and product in which their publisher has such a keen interest. Pretty stupid really.

this is funny cause it seems like the guy from IW wants to lay into the other dude and talk shit on his game cause treyarch is terrible and the game is probably garbage but has to pull back the reigns and instead go another avenue in desparaging them by saying stop comparing your stuff to ours instead of yours sucks and ours is awesome stop trying to ride our coattails fucknuts haha.

Wtf is that guy smoking, clearly he never played CoD especially the new one since he claims bolt actions in WaW are 1 hit kills, they sure as hell aren't which is probably the biggest reason I'm not getting the game and going with Gears if anything, and I'm a die hard CoD fan. I think the IW guy needs to chill out a bit... Guess what? CoD4 was one of the biggest games last year. Some might say it was one of the biggest games ever (not in actual size, but popularity). The next CoD game is definitely going to be compared to its predecessor. People want to know if it lives up to the precedents set by CoD4, especially when it's generally believed that Treyarch couldn't possibly make a game that's up to IW's standards.

He should bitch at the guy in his email, or in person if possible. If that's already been done and this Activision guy is still talking out of his ass (assuming that he is), we may have a legitimate public complaint here.
I'm hoping that the IW community rep at least checked with some IW people before saying this, otherwise he clearly doesn't like his job.
I'm also signed up on his blog and he responded to someone's comment saying he has in fact tried to go through proper channels with no effect, so then he made his rant on his blog.
They should stop comparing it to cod4. It sucks in comparison to that game.

Actually I just made this cause I think it's funny abotu how people cry that EVERY FUCKING NEW GAME copies some older game. I think we are at a time where every game takes from some other game in some way and it's time to get over it.
Treyarch didn't really even have to try on WaW. They pretty much had everything available from Modern Warfare from the get go, so they really only had to add new bells and whistles. Kinda lame that IW did all the work for CoD4, laying the framework for WaW, then you have asshole like this Activision guy saying how much better their new game is than CoD4

I actually applauded. IRL. Seriously, it's a douche move from Heller, using CoD4:MW's success to drive interest to WaW. It's kind of comprehensible tho, people tend to look forward to the sequel if the game is good. But in this case there is a problem: IT'S NOT YOUR FUCKING GAME.
