yeah lets port an iPhone game to arcade format in a time where Arcades are practically nonexistent
That would be a tragedy.
Infinity Blade is a great example of why. It's great for what it is, gorgeous, more forgiving remake of Punch Out combined with their Citadel tech demo and a simple RPG-lite upgrade system. Great for killing a couple minutes, but not in the same category as a full featured fighter, RPG, what have you.
Actually, that's what I wonder most about an arcade version. What about those upgrade elements? Does it store your progress on a cloud server? Does it synch with a mobile device so you can keep your progress with you? Do you simply not get to keep progress made in the arcade game, which then leaves you with only the kinder, gentler version of Punch Out with nicer graphics?
If anything, I'd rather they made a full console/PC version of the game, with a deeper story, broader features, full world exploration, NPCs you could talk to, etcetera and a "synch" option so you could unlock extras in your iPhone version as you progressed in the fleshed out "full game".

Punch-Out!! is a novelty moreso than something that ever set the world on fire. Not to mention it's gameplay (which is 20 years old) is still more engaging, being more of a puzzle game than anything.
Actually copying Punch-Out!!?
Not that impressive. While it has the power of Unreal Engine 3 which looks great, it doesn't have the cartoony awesomeness.
It's only seems like that since there hasn't been a decent hardcore portable since the PSP (FUCK Nintendo and their weak ass SHIT). The Vita has a great shot to revive portable gaming.
And what it lacks in cartoonyness, it makes up for with a compelling RPG-lite equipment and leveling system. What the game lacks in originality it makes up for with it's addictive nature, perfect for the game's pick up and play purpose.
Besides, my point was that it's no less of a game than Punch-Out!!
