A friend of mine showed me the first Infinity Blade on the iPad.
I don't understand why it's so popular. Does it look nice? I suppose, for an internet tablet. But all I remember from the gameplay was swiping or tapping (don't remember which) until the bad guy standing in front of my character died. It wasn't very interesting.

The battles are all QTE-like, sure, but there's a Diablo-style RPG system underneath it all that is quite addicting.

Yeah, it looks great but to be honest it is not much of an actual game so it is not hard to render everything so nicely. Reminds me of the Rage free download for iOS--looks awesome but is an awful lot of smoke and mirrors.
