Infinite Crisis goes into open beta March 14

8:00 PM on 02.27.2014

Interested in the DC Moba game Infinite Crisis? Well it's going into open beta starting on March 14. The beta will feature the new tri-lane map called Gotham Divided, which sees Gotham City collided with the Gotham by Gaslight version of the iconic city.

Along with these news developers Turbine have revealed three new heroes you'll be able to play as. Green Arrow, Aquaman, and, uh, Mecha Superman? A robot version of Superman? What?

Mecha Superman originates from the Mecha universe, and here's his whole origin story:

A fusion of Krypton and Earth technology, Mecha Superman is a massive hero with an even bigger heart.

By connecting a crashed Kryptonian space probe to his family’s enormous agrobot, young Clark Kent created an unexpected new robot. Clark named him KAL and tried teaching him about being human, mostly through an imaginary game called “Superman”. This hero, played by Clark, could right every wrong, yet K.A.L. never understood the game’s purpose. Everything changed when, walking home from school, Clark was killed by a drunk driver. The grief taught K.A.L. why humans dreamed of heroes, and he took on the name and mission of Superman, in honor of the friend he lost.

A massive Enforcer, Mecha Superman fights with metal tonnage able to fissure the very ground and even create earthquakes.

Atomic Poison Ivy is basically a plant spider thing

Atomic Wonder Woman? Badass. Atomic Green Lantern? Awesome. Atomic Poison Ivy? Umm. Up until now the Atomic versions of DC heroes you'll be able to play as in the Infinite Crisis MOBA have been pretty great. So the reveal of Atomic Poison Ivy is kind of a bummer. Mostly because she looks ridiculous walking around with her spider-like plant legs.more
