We haven't posted enough -- or at all from the looks of it -- about Rocket Bear Games' Infested Planet, so let me remedy that right now. A beta for Infested Planet has gone live for anyone who pre-orders or pre-ordered the game, to give you your fix of tactical RTS fun right now.
I've been reading some great things about Infested Planet, and from the looks of the trailer it's still shaping up to be a great and frantic mix of continuously adapting tactics and arcade top-down shooting madness. Rocket Bear's Alex Vostrov has also been documenting his progress on the community blogs for almost a year now, which most of us seemingly overlooked. Shame on us.
I suggest you give it a read, as it shows a fascinating journey from the early concept stages to where the game is at now. The game is 25% off for pre-orders through the game's website, and you can get an extra 10% off using the code STARBEAR.
Teslagrad is shaping up to be another score for Wii U. The puzzle-platformer's newly-announced eShop release will join the Windows, Mac, Linux, and PlayStation 3 versions this fall.

Incredipede, a "game about life and feet," is on sale for $4.99 on Steam for PC and Mac. If you are a lucky Linux user, you can download it for free. The game was successfully added to Steam via Greenlight earlier this year, and it looks like a lot of fun to play.
This sale runs until June 24, so jump on it if you want to save some cash and add another indie title to your collection.
If your game only really cost $30 to make in GameMaker, then yeah, you're gonna recoup the development budget pretty quick. Former PC Gamer writer Tom Francis hoped his debut title Gunpoint might do well enough to allow him t...

While the unique puzzles and platforming featured in the original Escape Goat made me a fan, the new map system being introduced in Escape Goat 2 immediately had me thinking of the 2D handheld Castlevania games. Rooms are now...
17-Bit's turn-based Skulls of the Shogun is wonderful. Strategy players, simply put, need to grab it. And now that it's coming to Steam, I don't feel like I jerk for making such a strong recommendation. So long, Windows 8!

I'm always poking around for odd games, and usually I just find things that have some promise but aren't worth talking about or playing. Today I was pleasantly surprised to discover Last of the Patriots. It's an Amiga-inspir...

I'm going to be perfectly honest with you guys; I'm not super into puzzle-platformers anymore. There is something about them that just doesn't click with me like they did before. Except for 6180 The Moon. That game is rad.&n...
