Infernal: Hell's Vengeance headed to Xbox 360 all soon like photo

Playlogic has announced today that its PC title that I can't seem to remember, Infernal: Hell's Vengeance, is coming to the Xbox 360 on June 30.

On paper, Infernal -- which hit PC in 2007 -- sounds horribly generic. It's a third-person shooter about a guy named Ryan Lennox (the action film equivalent of "Joe Smith"), who turns into a ghost and has to use supernatural powers to kill things. The back-of-the-box bullets points include things like "gripping storyline," "beautifully designed indoor and outdoor environments," a cover system, and "intelligent enemies who use the environment to their advantage." OK, so like every other game on the market right now.

The catch with Infernal would be the powers -- teleportation and telekenesis to interact with the environment, which could be neat. Critics generally agreed that the game was "pretty good," and at the $39.99 price I'm seeing it listed for at retail, it could be a decent thrill-ride for the buck.

Has anyone played Infernal on the PC? Let us know what you thought.

Does this feel like a response to Infamous to anyone else? Maybe its just the way "Infernal" is written but it just feels that way...

Yep it's basically Infamous with fire. I wonder which game will be better.

You can play the demo on Steam. It's not that bad. Not great, but some mediocre PS2-shooter style fun.

It's a pretty generic, single-player-only third-person shooter. You're a fallen angel and you work for Hell to fight Heaven. The plot was badass as all fuck but the gameplay was forgettable. Cool shooting, and immolations and shit, lots of violence, but meh. You can get the same shit with FEAR or any other FPS these days.

Now that you point it out though, the logo does look a lot like inFamous, which should hopefully be really fucking awesome.

"Pretty good?" The game scored a 6.5 on the metacritic. Perhaps "average" is the best word.

@JusttLikeBuck

This original Infernal is out way before the influx of thousands of gears-style games.

I remember that game. I remember thinking that the videos of it looked cool and I downloaded the demo but its shitty frame rate just made me feel ashamed of my outdated PC.

Is that guy's head gigantic, or is his arm tiny?

@Koehler83

That's the same thing I noticed. There's something really strange about that dude.

The Infernal engine itself is actually quite nice. I can definitely see it's usefulness in future projects.

The actual game is a pretty generic shoot 'em up though. Definitely not bad, but nothing special.

I read about this game in a mag awhile back and purchased it. It's actually a decent title for the money. The graphics were beautiful but I don't know how that will translate from PC to console, especially since I have a pretty nice PC. I haven't played it in awhile but I remember really liking the way the camera followed the player. Some of the powers can only be used at special points in the game, with a orb like thing letting you know it's available.

I think I'll let Chris Livingston of Concerned fame do the explaining:

I played this. It was a TERRIBLE game. Wow, Infamous has them coming out of the woodwork to bank on its buzz. It must be a really good.

I'm buying this based solely on the fact that I heard about it long and wanted to play it.
