inFAMOUS movie is happening, Sheldon Turner is writing it photo

You really can't have enough videogame movies, so it's terrific to hear that PS3 exclusive inFAMOUS is heading to the big screen. Hollywood screenwriter Sheldon Turner is the pen behind this venture, having been allegedly signed thanks to a seven figure deal. Wow, I'd have done it for five hundred bucks.

"What excited me most about the game was it was the first of which I've come across that had a big idea and a character arc," explains Turner. "It is, I believe, the future of gaming. The game, while big and fun, is at its core a love ballad to the underachiever, which is what our hero, Cole McGrath, is."

While one won't be able to put moral choices in the movie, I'd love it if Cole still stopped every time he saw someone in trouble and had a ridiculously polarized inner monolog with himself, wondering whether he should help or murder the small child in front of him. Because that's how every superhero should think.

Seriously though, did I just hear this guy call inFAMOUS the future of gaming? I really hope that's not true.

Calling it "the future of gaming" is obvious PR speak, but inFAMOUS was a very good game. The feel and ambiance are great for a movie. Empire City was developed to be an interesting place, and all the characters were interesting.

This is going to be the most urbanest movie ever! An urban god in a urban concrete jungle! URBAN.

The future of gaming? Let's not be too hasty with that. But yes, I would love to have Cole have an inner monolgue to either save the kitten from the tree or barbeque to kitten to ashes.

Whats with all the inFamous hate? The whole "the future of gaming" is an hyperbole from someone that probably didn't play much games... But the character and the settings are very interesting and has one of the best "origins" story I have seen in a while; also, many moments (the comic book-like cutscenes come to mind as an example) are pretty cinematographic.

Granted, the game is probably not going to sell in the overcrowded super hero movies, specially considering he is not a comic book character and he doesn't run around using bright colors spandex; but at least they can't blame the source material...

If I remember correctly, the review on here was much lower than the average, with much of the hate being directed being at the abilities not being useful. I personally think that it more bad utilization of the powers of the reviewers

I dunno, have you seen Antony Hopkins in those awful Sky TV ads recently? The guy's slimmed down to a size where he could kick my ass easily.

So... apparently inFAMOUS's storytelling style was something new?
Oh dear.

Stop being idiots. Games like InFamous will help bridge the gap between a movie and a game. Its has a deep story without sacrificing gameplay

Jim, you're dead wrong on inFamous, but you're still a big, beautiful man of a beast and I'm hoping you decided to hand deliver my cloth map since you're in the Seattle area and it hasn't arrived in the post yet.

What if it became an interactive experience with the audience making the moral choices when they come up? Like choosing between Cole racing to an awesome laser gun battle in his hover Ferrari or staying in and doubling checking some kid's homework

It's not so much that it's an inFAMOUS movie, but yet another video game movie that'll probably bomb at the box offices and suck all around and give gamers even worse spotlight.

Just saying. =P

They could make this like Clue and ship the prints with multiple endings!

Also, Tina Fey as Cole. Believe in it.

Sheldon Turner then pondered to himself "Hmmm... I could make this movie based on inFAMOUS but it's going to suck and irritate a lot of innocent people. On the other hand, it's going to bring in a lot of cash.

Your actions have made you slightly more evil.
