I'm known for (among other things) my relative disappointment with inFAMOUS. I thought the game was "okay" but it could have been far more than it was. Along comes inFAMOUS 2, and a new gameplay trailer that seems to indicate that this sequel IS going to be everything it had the potential to be. I didn't think I'd say it, but this footage makes me excited in my underpants!

It looks faster, more fluid, and way more over-the-top than the first game did. Not to mention, I actually dig the new look and voice of Cole. Gone is the bad Solid Snake impression, and there's no douchebag beard as seen in the first inFAMOUS 2 concept art. I... I really like where this is going.

Things are a tad too early to say for sure, but I am really encouraged by what I have seen here. Sucker Punch may yet make a believer out of me!

This trailer is making me a believer again. Still not digging the voice and hair but meh.. DLC will most likely fix that later.

I'm at least interested. That's more than I can say for the last title.

I don't really care about Cole's new look and voice. He wasn't exactly a very interesting and cool character, so there's no real loss there.

Sweet, they're putting more effort on melee. The beginning of the video reminded me of No More Heroes for some reason.

On a more serious note. I miss Cole's old voice actor (they could have just had the same voice actor do a slightly less gritty voice and it would have been fine), but otherwise holy shit this game looks better than the already-really-good Infamous

I actually like new look, and save for some minor changes, I hope they keep it that way. But I really HATE his new voice, it didn't sound as bad in the debut trailer (it was slightly gravely), but he sounds like shit in the gameplay vid.

In this thread, SephirothX goes out of his way to overcompensate for any criticisms of the original game.

yo this is crazy, and the character model looks very nice, stop complaining. I feel why they did it. I don't want a mad Cole in such a beautiful environment. This is shaping up to be good

Looking good.

I wasn't a big fan of the first either due many small issues piling up to create one big annoying experience. (Cole scales EVERYTHING too easily and sticks to walls like butter whether or not you actually WANT to stick to them and he STILL can't mount a simple chain-link fence?!)

If this one gives a little more mission variety and fine tunes the iffy aspects of the first game then I think I'll be giving this one a purchase.

I would say the game looks good except Cole and his new voice. The old voice and look worked fine for him. Really really hate the new look and voice.

Wow yeah, I only rented the first one and enjoyed it passingly, but THIS looks like an automatic buy. Hope it continues to shape up like this.

Also, why wasn't this trailer at E3? This could've easily helped inFAMOUS 2 win some nods it's way at the very least.

@ mrandydixon Omg Your so right! it not like The Suffering had it before prototype. There's probably 100's of games that had it before the suffering too, blades for arms is not considered original in any respect.

It looks like they have addressed some issues with previous game. The combat in this game actually looks interesting. Still don't like the new voice though and I'm not happy to hear what sounds like Zeke either.

I really enjoyed the first game, it got tied up abit with a few too many abilities mapped to different buttons and the frame rate was junk but still...

Yeah, that trailer makes the game look totally rad. I'm curious to know how much of the actual gameplay is going to be like that.

It would've been way better if they made smoother the process of him overcoming the difficulties he faced on the first game.

It would've been rather nice to see a character slowly evolve as a human being throughout a series a games, turning from a dark, sulking, unwilling hero, into a light-hearted, Spider-Man like hero that learns to love live for what it is and make sure it's not harmed in any other way.

Instead, our guts get PUNCHED by SUCKERS(got it?) that decided it would've been nicer to break any semblance of continuity. Congratulations.

Whoa, chill the fuck out. I never said Prototype invented dudes with blade arms, only that the dude with blade arms in this video reminded me of this:

Now go ahead, tell me I'm wrong again. I dare you, I double-dare you, motherfucker! Tell me I'm wrong one more goddamn time!

@Infamous 2

Despite what sadiztic would have you believe, I think you look like a fun game. Thanks for the video!

I dig the slow-mo electric blade fighting and destructive environs. But (and this is a small but) the soundtrack was a bit weak. The low-key score played by one guy with violin didn't really gel with the superheroic bombast played out on screen.

I for one rather enjoyed the first inFamous and thought there was nothing wrong with Cole. This "Cole" though? Hate him. Hate his hair. Especially hate his voice. Hate his pants. Not too stoked about melee attacks either personally. Otherwise this looks pretty good.

I liked the first inFamous but the story wasn't that great and it coud have used more stuff to do[like Saint's Row, Red Faction: Guerilla, Crackdown, or even[Prototype]) when not climbing, electro-skating or doing missions. And unfortunately Monkey Punch tried to hang most of the game on the story. Story really isn't what these types of games do best.

I'm glad that Cole doesn't sound like a grim avenger with laryngitis anymore. I wish Zeke was dead because the fool sucks. Overll though, it looks much improved from the humble "stop the machine gun trucks" and "find the hidden packagae" or "shoot down the UAV's".

It's looking good. I don't mind the voice, but it is quite silly that the guy from the new Red Faction game looks more like Cole than Cole does.

I enjoyed the first one but it wasn't as awesome as it could have been. This trailer definitely is a step in the right direction. How much of this though is just trailer and how much is scripted gameplay events? I still want to see what just roaming the city is like.

Excited though!

I am not a fan of Cole's voice in the slightest.

But goddamn does that look awesome. I thought that Cole was pretty fast and fluid in the first inFAMOUS, but now he looks much more powerful and rightfully so.

The new voice is such a significant change that it's going to take some getting use too. Right now, the new voice sounds like crap to me. But that opinion is derived from me playing the first inFAMOUS for quiet a bit of time and thus growing use to Cole's old voice. All we have is short trailers to watch at the moment. Once I'm able to get my hands on the game and immerse myself in it for a couple of hours, I'm almost certain I can adapt to the new voice. I'm also certain that the same applies to a good portion of people not liking the new voice.

I don't get it. What's so bad about Cole the way he WAS? Now he looks an sounds like, any old generic clown I meet downtown in ____________ (place town name here), any old generic town. They took away the real Cole, and replaced him with BORING.

I'm sorry, but I DON'T like his "new" voice at all. It sucks.

I thought the point was to make him any old dude because that's exactly how he was when these powers found him. I'm tired of playing the role of a trained killer, meat-headed military jock, or some other stereotype of strength. I want the underdog to have some time out to play.
