If you haven’t heard of Indy Mogul yet, then you’re missing out big time. Indy Mogul is a site all about showing people how to make special effects on the cheap. They’ve done a few videogame related things in the past, but the latest DIY project takes the cake.

Building a suit of Halo armor isn’t an easy task. That's why Indy Mogul brought in Erica Langworthy of Drawn By Pain who makes Halo armor as a hobby to help out. The crazy thing about this whole project is that it’s mostly made of paper. PAPER!

Check out the above video as Erik and Erica show you the entire process of making MJOLNIR armor for around $100. And be sure to hit the jump to see a short film of Mistress Chief trying to find some love. Lara Croft even makes an appearance!

Also, I love all of the over exaggerate facial expressions.

Workman posted this in the c-blogs a few days ago, and it got me thinking. It may be cheaper than the 800 bucks the professionals charge, but thats a lot of fucking work just to look like a giant douche.

That was actually really awesome, but yikes, that girl can't present to save her life.

Now, time to buy me some paper!

I've tried this before and I'm a decent Cosplayer and even something like this is hard. I tried making the Hayabusa variant last year but ran out of time. So what happened to all the guts of it?

It became Desutoid

If this video means I can buy a paper one off eBay cheaper, hell yeah.

Jesus Christmas! Those people need to look up the terms "ham" and "overacting", in particular how the two phrases relate to each other. Their method of "presentation" made this fscking impossible for me to watch the whole way through.

Yeah, this was a giant ham sandwich. Those two are just bad enough to convince Victor Lucas to offer them a hosting spot on EP.

i agree it was rly hard to watch that through. the only time that it didnt seem so cheesy was when he told every one to stop requesting halo armor...

I have built some of the stuff these guys tell you how to build, and let me tell you.. they never tell you the true cost of the project. They leave out a lot of little details when they do the price analysis, that end up adding up to be a good bit more than anticipated.

If you look at the finished projects there are always little bits that they enver mentioned at all, and you basically have to figure it out for yourself.

Don't get me wrong, they are def. helpful and get you on the right path, but 100 bucks for that... I don't buy it.
