Because "why not?", Valve has announced today that The National will have an original song in the upcoming Portal 2.

"The inclusion of the original song, 'Still Alive,' in the first Portal game was part of what made the game special," says Valve writer Chet Faliszek. "For Portal 2, we wanted to extend the use of music."

No word on the song's title or how many memes it's going to spawn. Portal 2 is out April 18.
