5:15 PM on 04.22.2013

The Metroidvania-inspired indie platformer A.N.N.E. has launched a Kickstarter, and unlike other massive projects floating around right now asking for millions of dollars, the goal is only $70,000. At the time of writing, it's already earned $2,467 after being up for less than a day. Stretch goals include releases on Mac, Linux, PSN, Vita, Ouya, and the Wii U.

A.N.N.E. is also trying to onto Steam via Greentlight, so if you like what you see in the trailer be sure to upvote it over there.

Open world platformer/space shooter A.N.N.E is a retro buffet

Really, why even play clearly deficient retro games? I mean, where are the shmup segments in Metroid? Where are the open world segments in Contra? Where are the line segments in a bisected triangle? A.N.N.E. is one part platformer, one part shmup, one part RPG. And this year at PAX A.N.N.E. has all its systems in play. Maybe we'll all get to play it this year.more

'Infographics action game' Metrico lands on PS Vita next month

We've covered Metrico a couple of times before but it's only now, in the last big push before release, that I am starting to grasp what it's all about. This trailer helps. The game is full of infographics that "change based ...more

Review: Abyss Odyssey

One thing you can't accuse Chilean developer ACE Team of doing is ploughing the same, well trodden ground as other indie devs. Its debut hit Zeno Clash combined a surrealistic art style with first-person, melee combat, while ...more

Beating Spelunky in under two minutes

One minute and fifty five seconds -- that's the new world-record any% time for Spelunky set by Pibonacci. It hurts my brain thinking about how many runs must have happened before the right conditions presented themselves for this to unfold. To think, I was happy to clear Olmec in under eight minutes for the "Speedlunky" achievement.more
