For this occasion, the organizers of the Humble Indie Bundle have dropped the "bundle" shtick -- at least for the time being -- to bring us the Humble Voxatron Debut. Similar to past promotions, this new game is DRM-free, cross-platform, and you get to name the price. Suhweet.
Your purchase isn't for a finished product; rather, you're getting future content updates, as they come out, for free. Not everyone is cool with this approach, but I'm quite fond of it myself. I'm also into voxel-based games inspired by Robotron. What else might be in store, given that this is a two-week sale?
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

The humble bundles are always worth a purchase, I think. I already bought it and I have to agree with Sex Bison, the controls are a tad annoying, but it's fun and cute. I really hope for a character editor in the future.
I'd love it if Binding of Isaac and Blocks That Matter were in it too like Script-br says.
everyone go to the humble indie bundle and check the source (with right click), then, ctrl+f search for "isaac" or "binding"
yes, confirmed, Binding of isaac will be added aswell as Blocks that matter
The shooty bits are good fun (provided your keyboard has a numpad). Not very inspired, but good fun. There are some levels which make nice use of the dynamic terrain deformation.
But there's a special place in generic-lava-land hell for game developers who make 3D platforming puzzles without giving the player a clear indication of where the character is, relative to the depth of the screen, and Lexaloffle has certainly earned a spot there for a couple of millenia at least. I've lost count of the number of times I thought the character was lined up with a platform and ended up falling in front of it or behind it. That one level with the lava and the blocks was interesting the first two times. After that, it just turned into an exercise in abject tedium.
Controls are terrible, needs official gamepad support and the ability to remap controls
Luckily xpadder should do the trick. Still not crazy about the alpha approach, I think its a bad model for the consumer. But Binding of Isaac will be nice so the bundle's worth grabbing.
Great little game, but yeah, the controls are ass at the moment. If it's gonna aim with the mouse it's gotta have some indicator for what direction you're actually aiming. Other than that it's very slick. Can't wait to see what it's like when it's complete.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

For full desktop keyboards: Using number pad 4,5,6 & 8 as directional fire makes a hell of a difference to the control woes.
"de butt" that was a good laugh
