Indie game 'Knytt Stories' has been released! photo
     AMAZING

If you haven’t played the original Knytt yet, then what are you waiting for? It’s an incredible 2D platform game that you won’t want to miss out on. Plus, it’s free!

The sequel to Knytt, Knytt Stories, includes a tutorial, a “save-the-world adventure,” and even a level editor. You might be thinking that the level editor will be too hard to figure out -- well it is, at first. But after reading this guide, you should be able to recreate the hardest levels from Mega Man 2 relatively easily.

Knytt Stories doesn't have a specific plot. Instead, each level is its own little adventure. A level called 'The Machine' is included with the game, where you have to stop a machine that draws the life out of the planet. An official expansion pack is also featured at the website with four original levels.

While I can’t comment on the main adventure’s length (haven’t beaten it yet), I will say that based on what I've seen so far, Knytt Stories is worth checking out for anyone with a PC. It's seriously that much fun.

Download Knytt Stories right here.

[Thanks, Justin!]

Kyntt and WaDF were two of the most fun games that I've ever played. They are simple (very much so in the case of Knytt) but remind me of the same fun feeling I had the first time I played zelda. Or tits.

Knytt has a delicious N flavor to it, but I always have that confused sense of "Where the hell am I going?" every time I try to play it.

There is also an expansion containing 4 new levels already out on the official website, including one doozy so large it makes "The Machine" look like a kiddy pool.

I think you have to head down and left from where you got the umbrella ... it's hard to remember. But yeah, I spent easily two hours messing around with maps. There are some really cool tile sets included.

I love how it's like Knytt, but WAY cooler. The actual need to go out and collect power ups makes it much more of a progressive game instead of just random wandering.
