This Jazzpunk communist breakfast cereal is amazing

One of the difficulties with comedy is that describing or paraphrasing a joke frequently makes it cease to be funny, so it's hard to convey Jazzpunk's charm without completely squashing its humor in the process. However,...

Have you ever wanted to throw an awesome BlizzCon viewing party for all your friends, but just didn't have the tools you needed to get the job done? Well this year, Destructoid and Blizzard have you covered!

Dtoid has proudly partnered with our friends at Blizzard to bring you "BlizzCon in a Box"! Hit the jump for all the details and pics of some of the prizes. To win one of these awesome boxes for yourself, we want you to create something inspired from a Blizzard game! Draw us some fan art, write a sonnet, record a tribute song -- the possibilities are endless, so use your imagination!

Pre-order Zelda in the UK for a mini musical chest

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds is shaping up to be something special. I don't think many of us 3DS owners need much convincing, but if so, take a look at the pre-order bonus UK retailer GAME is offering: a miniatu...

Contest: Win a signed SMT IV poster and 3DS skin!
by Mr Andy Dixon

[Update: Contest over! Winners are Charlietime, neonoxide, iwasabunny, Tim Douglas, and Shadowfox!]

In celebration of the launch of Shin Megami Tensei IV stateside, our friends at Atlus have given us three signed SMT IV E3 posters and five SMT IV 3DS skins to hand out to the biggest RPG nerds at Destructoid! (Sorry Dale; no staff.)

To win one of these beauties, you need to take a picture of your RPG collection (games, memorabilia, etc.) and post it in the comments below. (Please include a hand-drawn Dtoid logo or robot somewhere in the picture so we know you didn't just steal it from the Internet.) The three most dedicated RPG fans will win a signed poster and 3DS skin, and two runners-up will win a 3DS skin. And hey, get creative! We're looking for the biggest fans, not just the biggest wallets. More than size matters this time around!

You have until this Sunday, July 14 at 11:59 PM Pacific to post your pic, and the contest is open to anyone with a U.S. mailing address. Have fun! And stay tuned next week; we've got an even bigger Shin Megami Tensei IV contest planned on launch day :)

Post a comment for a chance to win a Loot Crate photo
Post a comment for a chance to win a Loot Crate
by Niero Gonzalez

[Update: Contest over! Winners are Lee Stokes, dlconor16, ChillyBilly, Nek, and Drunkus. Check your PMs, people!]

During E3 I was lucky enough to hang out with Loot Crate, a service that sends you a gamer-and-geek themed assortment of candy, toys, stickers, clothing, and other goods for about $20 a month. They've been doing this for less than a year and already have 8,000+ members. Congratulations to founders Chris and Matthew, and may you see continued success.

Oh yeah, and they gave us five of their awesome Loot Crates to give away. Want one?

How to Win a Loot Crate: Simply post a comment stating "Gimme a Loot Crate!" (or something like that, feel free to get creative) and you're entered to win.  We'll update this post this Friday with the random winners. Please note that Loot Crate only ships to North America, so International dudes will have to wait until they conquer the world. Good luck! To buy your own do this thing.

Disclosure: Destructoid is not financially compensated in any way for this referral, I just dig it.

You've gotta love a postcard that tries to eat you

I was befuddled when I received a mysterious postcard from Uruguay. Who do I know in Uruguay? The envelope felt thick, so I was anxious to see what was inside. The contents were increasingly peculiar: an outstretched han...

I'm not the type of guy that has action figures lying about the house; my He-Man and Thundercats figures are up in the attic safely gathering dust for their revival in a younger generations' hands. But I'm real tempted to get...

Offbeat Hall of Fame: Nintendo Super Power Supplies photo
Offbeat Hall of Fame: Nintendo Super Power Supplies
by Tony Ponce

[Offbeat Hall of Fame is a showcase of the cool, often bizarre products and media from years past that celebrate videogames and gamer culture.]

Have you picked up your copy of the final Nintendo Power yet? Looking through it again, I still have trouble accepting that a piece of my childhood is gone for good. However, thanks to the magic of the Internet, a trip down memory lane is but a click away.

There are many things I loved about Nintendo Power -- the maps, the comics, the Classified Information cheats section that always devoted a page or two to Super Mario World -- but something about physical goodies always filled me with a special glee. And there was no better repository of Nintendo merchandise in the 90s than the Super Power Supplies catalog!

Before digital retailers became a thing, mail order catalogs were the only way to obtain nifty items unavailable in stores. For the Nintendo generation, Super Power Supplies was our shopping mecca. Because how cool was the kid wearing a sick-ass Fulgore mask on Halloween?

Rhythm Heaven Fever special edition unboxing

Did you know that Rhythm Heaven Fever was getting a special edition? Neither did I. Then I got this box in the mail this morning. I'm pretty sure that this special edition won't be sold in stores, but if Nintendo decides to change its mind on that, they're sure to make a killing when the game hits stores on February 13th. Check out the video and you'll understand what I mean.
