You can bet real money on Super Street Fighter IV

Even with no money on the line, I get way too stressed out playing competitive multiplayer games. My emotions run wild. I cannot fathom participating in money matches, though the appeal isn't lost on me. Capcom has partnered ...

Rust needs more players like this guy

Twitch Plays Pokemon is the best thing since Salty Bet

It could have easily been a disaster, but it's quite the opposite. I cannot stop watching. Twitch Plays Pokemon is a collaborative stream in which Pokemon Red/Blue is played by people in chat. Button inputs (e.g., "up," "down...

Dhalsim's leg's comin' at you in this cool tattoo

I've done very limited research on the topic (read: none), but this Dhalsim tattoo has to be the cream of the crop as far as Street Fighter-inspired body art goes, right? I mean, this is awesome in just about every way. One thing's for sure, Street Fighter has taken the lead back from Mortal Kombat in the tattoo department. Amazing Street Fighter Dhalsim Tattoo [reddit]

GTA V players snatched a car in midair with an airplane

Make your own fun. It's a lesson that we sometimes forget in the glut of linear, Hollywood-style "cinematic" games. I once spent an afternoon among friends in Ultimate Spiderman seeking out the highest building in the game, ...

Maybe Magikarp isn't as worthless as we all thought

Hands down, the most oft-cited example of a useless Pokemon is Magikarp. I mean, it's definitely not one of the more badass Pokemon. Stupid fish. All it does is splash around, right? Well, until it decides to splash right ov...

Volpin Props has another slick Soul Calibur IV replica

I've been following the work of Volpin Props for years and haven't lost interest yet. The end result is frequently terrific, sure, but it's the step-by-step photos and explanations of the building process that keep me coming ...

Why you might play a videogame at your next job interview

Let's face it, job interviews suck. Actually getting an interview, for me at least, is a minor miracle so it's just as deflating when you have to go through the whole process of trying to make yourself sound like a great cand...

Neat idea: A headset that can help stop gamer rage

Turns out blacksmithing is tougher than in Skyrim

I don't think that anyone really thought that Skyrim provided an accurate depiction of a blacksmith's trade. I mean, those dudes have to hit stuff for a really long time. It looks too tedious to be fun. Unless they have...

Collector's Corner: Show us your collection photo
Collector's Corner: Show us your collection
by Bill Platt

[The latest Collector's Corner is all about you, we want to see your collections! We want to show them off to the rest of the Destructoid Community. Keep reading below to see how you can participate!]

I was having a discussion with a friend the other day, who also happens to be a collector, regarding the way he displays the games he's picked up over the years. You see, my buddy Brian is a huge nut for anything Atari, whether it is games, consoles, posters, manuals, pins, buttons, stickers -- anything. You name it, he collects it, and he has tons of stuff to show off.

His collection, while massive, is sort of hidden, such that the majority of his games and swag are not on display. He has a room dedicated to gaming, and on the back wall are two six-foot-tall shelves, each is just about four feet wide. On these shelves are various games (mostly Atari), some loose, and some in boxes. There are a couple of Atari-themed lunch boxes, and other miscellaneous items. The windows are adorned with vintage Pac-Man curtains. The walls are painted to resemble a level from the original Super Mario Bros. for the NES.

Basically, he goes all out.
