EVO 2013: Results, highlights, and all the hype photo
EVO 2013: Results, highlights, and all the hype
by Wesley Ruscher

Another year, another Evolution Championship Series under wraps. This year's premiere fighting game tournament was by far the biggest to date boasting over 3,000 participants from over 30 countries, stretching across nine of the most elite games in the genre.

Three days of non-stop action, that began with some of the most intense semi-final matches to grace the first day of the tournament ever. There were multiple bouts, especially in Super Street Fighter IV Arcade and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 that could have easily been grand final championship fights. It was definitely a rollercoaster ride of emotion from start to finish.

Day three culminated in another justifiably crazy day full of upsets and memorable moments. The amount of heart on display was inspiring. Reigning champs were dethroned and new kings of the stick were crowned.

Here are the winners and most hype moments of EVO 2013.

Review: Street Fighter X Tekken (Vita) photo
Review: Street Fighter X Tekken (Vita)
by Brett Zeidler

Launching just seven months ago on consoles, it seems that Street Fighter X Tekken never really caught on in the fighting game community. Some would argue this was a result of the quality of the game itself, but a bit of controversy surrounding the on-disc DLC and confusion about which characters would appear where certainly didn't help matters.

Having said that, back in February, we told you that with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 on the Vita, portable fighting has never looked so good or played so well. It appears that Capcom has outdone themselves again in making the most beautiful, playable portable fighting experience out there.

Preview: Street Fighter X Tekken Vita brings plenty more photo
Preview: Street Fighter X Tekken Vita brings plenty more
by Abel Girmay

The PlayStation Vita's library has already seen its fair share of console ports, especially when it comes to fighting games. Mortal Kombat, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and now Street Fighter X Tekken has made the jump. Having played many of these ports, there seems to be a common theme to them: get the base game, all the DLC released, then add in some Vita-specific extras.

In that respect, Street Fighter X Tekken isn't doing anything particularly new. Still, the Vita version packs a hell of a lot of content, offering fighting fans a good amount of incentive to take the dive.

gamescom: Street Fighter X Tekken Vita trailers are here

Here are some Street Fighter X Tekken trailers showcasing the PlayStation Vita version of the game. The best thing about this version of the game is that there won't be any on-disc DLC -- because Vita games don't ship on discs. What a victory! Anyway, if you like fighting games, here are some moving pictures of people punching each other. Only smaller this time. Do you like it?
