Fan-made Mario ad hits you right here (points to heart)

I'm posting this for Chad. Why? Because he was unable to do it thanks to the fact that he's weeping under his desk with years and years of Mario love (and a massive amount of Mario Galaxy love) flowing out of his eyes. If ev...

Miyamoto: Mario Galaxy 2 is for 'veteran gamers' photo
Miyamoto: Mario Galaxy 2 is for 'veteran gamers'
by Jim Sterling

Nintendo loves to convince embittered and cynical "hardcore" gamers that they haven't changed, and nobody wants to claim that he's still "cool" more than lovable mentalcase Shigeru Miyamoto. If you were worried that Super Mario Galaxy 2 wouldn't be "hardcore" enough for you (and let's face it, you weren't), Miyamoto is here to put such fears to rest.

"I do believe that there is a lot here to appeal to the more veteran and more experienced gamers," he explains, "and I think it’s a title that they will obviously enjoy, but I really took it into consideration and tried to do our best to create a game that’s accessible to new gamers as well.

"And, you know, we also built it with consideration that we believe that people who played through the first Mario Galaxy have become better players."

Well, that's good then. Looks like Nintendo hasn't implemented its "look at the screen to win the game" system just yet. Perhaps they're saving that for Mario Galaxy 3.

Miyamoto doesn't know what Ratchet and Clank is: That's a man up on his games

A while back, Insomniac made a somewhat arrogant claim by stating it was flattered that Super Mario Galaxy had Ratchet & Clank-inspired spherical worlds. It was a presumptuous statement to make at the time, and now legend...

Luigi is a playable race in Super Mario Galaxy!

Where I come from, my online haunt long before Destructoid, we have a certain rule -- thou shalt pay homage to the Green God. The superior Mario brother, Luigi, is something of a cult figure in my part of the 'hood, so it's w...

More new Mario Galaxy videos shows you how to control Mario. Also, Wii Jacket
by Hamza CTZ Aziz
I some how let slip these how to videos right past me when I threw up the prologue video yesterday. At least one of my questions from the prologue has been answered by this video called Spin -- You will be able to go on the Warships.

One thing you'll also notice is that Nintendo is demonstrating the controls with the Wii Jacket on the Wiimotes. I knew this was going to eventually happen, but not this soon. Anyway, hit the jump to see the jump controls, jump variations, running, bee suit, and ghost suit.
