The real life version of the Halo sword kind of sucks

Master arms maker Man at Arms is back, this time taking on the Halo Elite energy sword. The concept looks cool in the game, but it kind of sucks in real life as it's not really practical. Look at how floppy it is! It will still cut a fool, you just got to wiggle it around a little to really get in deep. It'll look cool mounted on a wall or something at least.

Halo: Spartan Assault storms to Xbox 360 today

One thing that can be said for Halo: Spartan Assault is that it's certainly the most accessible of the Halo games. Hell, it's landed on about every Microsoft platform in recent memory. Today, Xbox 360 gets added to ...

White Xbox One coming this year, update coming this March

I don't want an Xbox One, but if I did, I'd want One in white. An anonymous NeoGAF poster let loose a flood of leaks, including word that October would see a white Xbox One bundled with Insomniac's Sunset Overdrive. A 1TB con...

Gears of Microsoft, Sly Cooper Movie, & Halo: The Series

Microsoft buys Gears of War, and puts Black Tusk to work on a new game, InFamous: Second Son's latest developer diary gets wet, there's a new video for episode 2 of Bioshock Infinite's Burial At Sea DLC, the Sly Cooper movie gets a trailer, Elysium director Neil Blomkamp is supposedly directing the first episode of the Halo show, and the guy who did the O.D.S.T. commercials is on board for a Ghost In The Shell movie. The Elder Scrolls Online won't require a Playstation Plus membership on top of its monthly fee, Car Mechanic Simulator 2014 is a real thing, and Namco Bandai is now Bandai Namco.

Review: Polk N1 Gaming SurroundBar photo
Review: Polk N1 Gaming SurroundBar
by Dale North

I don't have the best history with sound bars. I had this bigger JBL one that sounded nice, but it stopped working. Kaput. I tried to replace it with one of Sony's budget models, but that one sounded so bad that I laughed at it. And I returned it.

I ended up with a discounted Samsung model that you'd probably find on the shelves of any electronics store right now. I hate it. It sounds like someone popped one of my eardrums. The wireless subwoofer is neat, but it sounds like someone mumbling loudly in the next room. It's unplugged and now in one of my closets. Do you want it? You can have it.

Polk sent along one for us to test out. The Polk N1 Surroundbar is a gaming-focused product, and one of the first officially licensed Xbox One products. I wasn't sure about how a gaming-focused soundbar would hold up, but I was pleasantly surprised after spending some time with it.

Impressions: Halo: Spartan Assault (Xbox One) photo
Impressions: Halo: Spartan Assault (Xbox One)
by Wesley Ruscher

Having all but ignored initial reviews for Halo: Spartan Assault when it first hit Windows 8 platforms last year, I was quite optimistic that I would thoroughly enjoy a top-down, twin-stick shooter set in Microsoft’s massively popular sci-fi setting. After all, Halo’s extended universe is generally of excellent quality and the company handling the franchise’s excursion into a new genre, Vanguard Games, proved they had the stuff to make an exhilarating run-and-gun shooter with Gatling Gears.

I should have read the reviews.
