Review: Call of Duty: Ghosts: Devastation photo
Review: Call of Duty: Ghosts: Devastation
by Chris Carter

Infinity Ward's DLC capabilities may not be up to snuff compared to Treyarch's, but the fact that they're trying is good enough for me. Call of Duty: Ghost's Onslaught DLC was a major step up in quality when compared to their prior milquetoast map packs, and somehow they've even managed to top Michael Meyer's cameo with the goddamn Predator.

Not all of the maps are created equal, but another strong Extinction mission and the Predator gimmick help elevate the package considerably.

Free Rise of the Triad update adds Doomstick, six community maps

Punchy, semi-auto shotguns are my jam. I'm not playing 2013's Rise of the Triad, but maybe I should be. Update 1.4 has gone live and while it most notably introduces the Doomstick, there are also six community maps added to ...

This is what it's like to play as the Predator in the new Call of Duty DLC photo
This is what it's like to play as the Predator in the new Call of Duty DLC
by Hamza CTZ Aziz

Call of Duty: Ghosts Devastation is now out for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 for $14.99. You get four new multiplayer maps, a new gun, a new chapter in the Extinction co-op mode, and most important of all, you can play as the goddamn Predator.

Like the Michael Myers transformation, you can become the Predator from the field orders stuff and you truly embody the Predator here. You get its thermal vision, invisibility, the claw, and even the shoulder mounted gun too. And when you're killed you can blow yourself up, which kills EVERYBODY! You even do the evil laugh!

I'm starting to regret that I gave up on Ghosts' multiplayer shortly after launch now.

Vlambeer changing direction of Nuclear Throne

I really love Nuclear Throne. The procedurally generated stages and high challenge level have kept me coming back time and again as Vlambeer has continued to tweak and expand the game in Early Access. Today comes perhaps the...

Killzone: Shadow Fall's Insurgent Pack released

Killzone: Shadow Fall Season Pass owners and those with $9.99 to spare can download the game's first big multiplayer offering, the Insurgent Pack, as of today. There's a lot included here, but the new Insurgent class and its...

The Predator confirmed for Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC photo
The Predator confirmed for Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC
by Chris Carter

The new trailer for Call of Duty Ghost's second DLC pack, Devastation, is pretty standard stuff for the first few minutes. You know -- the typical overview of maps, lots of gunfire, and an Eminem track laid over it. Then you get to the 2:20 mark and things start get weird.

As teased last week, The Predator is revealed as an element in the Ruins map. This isn't a knock-off or anything -- it's the actual Predator from the films. While the base game may have not been all that interesting, so far I'm really enjoying Infinity Ward's weird take on DLC, following the playable Halloween villain Michael Meyers.

Battlefield 4 Naval Strike DLC arrives on Xbox One, still delayed on PC

Because Battlefield 4 -- a game released five months ago -- is still having issues, the newest bit of DLC was delayed on both Xbox One and PC. After two days the Xbox One version is now good to go this morning,...

Titanfall cheaters can only play with other cheaters now

Titanfall cheaters, your time is up. Respawn has been using the FairFight system to detect cheaters on the PC since the game's launch, and if you're caught you will be banned from the general population. You can still play th...

Last-minute issue causes Battlefield 4 Naval Strike PC delay

The Naval Strike DLC for Battlefield 4 launches today for Battlefield 4 Premium members ahead of its wide release on April 8, 2014. That was the plan, anyway. The new content (four maps, Titan mode, a hovercraft) will be late...

Review: BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode Two photo
Review: BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode Two
by Chris Carter

BioShock Infinite had an interesting run, with player reception all over the board. Some loved it, some hated it, others reveled in its celebration of violence, some disapproved. It's probably going to be a long time before we get to debate the merits of another BioShock game again though, considering the fact that Irrational Games has dissolved, and is handing over the franchise to 2K.

So that leaves Burial at Sea Episode Two as Irrational's last hurrah, and I'm pleased to say it's a vast improvement upon the foundation that was built in Episode One.

[Be warned: there are minor spoilers involving Episode One below.]

Ridable elephants in the Himalayas rumored for Far Cry 4

As much as I truly am down for more Far Cry, I don't have it in me to play through another tropical island setting. There's been talk before that the still-unannounced Far Cry 4 will travel to the Himalayas -- a much more com...

It's not all shooting in Wolfenstein: The New Order

Wolfenstein: The New Order is one of those games that sort of just exists. While there are neat aspects to the game -- I'm a sucker for alternate realities and mechs, to be clear -- it's hard not to be largely uninterested e...

So, Battlefield 4's Naval Strike DLC looks pretty great

It's been months and months since I last touched Battlefield 4, for a number of reasons -- some of them the fault of the game, some of them not. I'm thinking the impending Naval Strike DLC, showcased rather excellently in th...
