Now that all the gift-giving and present-receiving is done, do you have some extra cash lying around? If so and an Xbox One's in your near future, you might want to buy that sooner rather than later. Waiting will just cost yo...

GMG Day Eight Sale: $12 Valkyria, $24 Beyond Earth

We're trying to keep the Winter Sale deal posts all in one place (here). But today's batch of deals from GMG is fairly good and warrants a quick mention. Most of these titles are at their lowest ever prices, and for the top recently released titles, a lot cheaper than Steam Winter Sale... at least, for most regions anyway.*

Steam sale: Brothers for $1.49, Banished for $7.99

Few deals have caught my attention during the Steam Holiday Sale. That might just be how it goes down: you build up your library sale after sale until, suddenly, most of the best discounts are for games you already own. At th...

Amazon's gift to you is free (good) Android titles and (more) cheap videogame downloads photo
Amazon's gift to you is free (good) Android titles and (more) cheap videogame downloads
by Brett Makedonski

[Update: There are a handful of new deals on videogame downloads, as well as some decent savings on other stuff -- including some portable hard drives that make great external storage for gaming consoles. All updated discounts are toward the top of the list; everything from yesterday's post is underneath it. As is customary, updated Amazon posts get bonus Grohl. #BonusGrohl]

Well, it's tough to argue with this -- free Android games on Amazon, several of which are quality titles. Five Nights at Freddy's? Sure, I'll try it out. Terraria? I'll give it a shot. Tetris? Never heard of it, but maybe it's okay.

When reached for comment, Dave Grohl said that he approved of free mobile games, but he couldn't fully endorse the deals on PC titles. "Even though I'm the sexiest of international rock stars, I'm still wary of paying for videogames," Grohl commented. "Yes, I have more money than I know what to do with, but everyone's trying to sell me computer games. Steam, Amazon, everyone. It's tiring." Grohl concluded by yelling "THE BEST, THE BEST, THE BEST, THE BEST, THE BEST..." until Destructoid was irked enough to hang up the phone.

Its raining PlayStation 4 deals Christmas Eve as Best Buy is slashing prices on two PS4 bundles. The White PS4 Destiny bundle is cut down to $349.99 along with the recently introduced "Four Games, One Pick" bundle (which comes with a choice of Destiny, Far Cry 4, LittleBigPlanet 3, and NBA 2K15).

99-cent Battlefield 3 and Inquisition for 33% off in Origin's year-end sale

Origin finally started its "real" winter sale, and deals are fairly decent, especially if you've been eying a PC copy of Dragon Age: Inquisition. The PC download's price finally matches the console versions' Black Friday week...

Xbox Live deals: Game of Thrones, Revengeance, Rock Band Blitz

I never know quite which deals to highlight: do I talk up mostly newer games that haven't been on sale time and time again, or do I stand my ground by highlighting old favorites that most (but not all!) of us already own? Hmm...

Steam sale: Just Cause 2, Garry's Mod, Goat Simulator

Much to my dismay, the Steam Holiday Sale is still going on. Maybe it'll never end. Maybe discounted PC games are the new standard. And then Valve will further slash the prices of select games -- causing a sale within a sale -- a paradox capable of ripping apart the fabric of this fragile existence. Don't enable Valve and its world-ending ways.

Steam sale: The Walking Dead, Outlast, Saints Row IV

Steam's trottin' out its (approximately) two-week train of titles, hoping to sell a few more units of each. As the consumer, you get to give a personal yay or nay on every single one of these. You're the emperor in Gladiator that pauses dramatically before casting a thumbs-up or a thumbs-down. You decide whether these games live or die. You really shouldn't have this much power.

D4, The Witcher 2, and MX vs. ATV Alive free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers in January photo
D4, The Witcher 2, and MX vs. ATV Alive free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers in January
by Jordan Devore

I got an Xbox One the other week. One of the first things I did after spending far too long finding a place for the Kinect to reside that wasn't obnoxiously front and center was to see which system-exclusive games I had up until now missed. Looking over the marketplace, not many titles jumped out at me, though there weren't many to begin with. Here's to you, 2015. You'll treat us well.

Dark Dreams Don't Die was at the top of my informal list of must-play Xbox One games because of its director, Swery (of Deadly Premonition and Spy Fiction fame) but I got sidetracked that day. And I'm thankful I did: the episodic adventure game is going to be free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers throughout January. Talk about a palate cleanser after this month's freebie Worms Battlegrounds.

On the Xbox 360 front, Gold members will be able to download MX vs. ATV Alive from January 1 - January 15, and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings from January 16 - January 31.

Wallet Busters: PC games winter sales arrive in force photo
Wallet Busters: PC games winter sales arrive in force
by Dealzon

For those PC gamers who aren't yet broke from all the holiday shopping, this week Steam, GMG, GameStop, and heck -- even Uplay, launched PC games winter sales to tug at your wallet.

Steam's winter sale went live Thursday at the usual 10:00 AM time slot, filled with some nice surprise such as the appearance of Microsoft Flight Simulator X Steam Edition. Over at GMG, they're attempting to price match Steam and tossing in a coupon for an additional 20% off for good measure.

GameStop's winter sale, while not as large as others, does have EA titles such as Battlefield 4 and C&C Ultimate Collection for only five bucks. Meanwhile, everyone's favorite DRM Uplay has its catalog on sale too: the excellent Valiant Hearts and Child of Light are only $6 a piece. Heck, even Steam keys of Stick of Truth are available at $13.

If you're looking for a last-minute gift on a console system, a few retailers are having some decent sales. For instance, the Xbox One Assassin's Creed Unity Bundle is $349.99 at Target with a bonus $70 Gift Card today while the 32GB Wii U Deluxe clocks in at $249.99. Not bad.

Game deals brought to by the crew at Dealzon. FYI: Sales from certain retailers help support Destructoid.
