Raid Square Enix's tomb with this weekend's Steam sale

This weekend's Square Enix Publisher Weekend sale has some ridiculous deals. Some of my childhood favorites that I didn't even know made it to PC are on there, including the whole Legacy of Kain series. Here's some of the hig...

25% off next week's Evolve and June's Arkham Knight photo
25% off next week's Evolve and June's Arkham Knight
by Dealzon

The newsy deals this weekend are all on recently released and upcoming titles. Just yesterday, GMG relaunched its "VIP" sale (aka MSRP circumventing sale), where you'll see discounts on next Tuesday's Evolve and this summer's Batman: Arkham Knight.

You'll need to login or create an account on this page to see the discounts. The 25% off applies to all three of Evolve's Editions - the regular ole' Standard at $45, Digital Deluxe at $60, and the pricey Monster Race Edition at $75. We ran the math, and essentially you can safely skip the Digital Deluxe - it offers the least compelling savings.

Grab Standard if you don't care about the 5th monster, but if you do, you'll probably have to fork over the $75 for the Monster Race Edition (which includes the Season Pass and all those other trinkets).

Over at Steam Store, they're running a Square Enix Weekend Sale, offering new lows on the Tomb Raider Collection and Lara Croft and The Temple Of Osiris. Games from the Final Fantasy series are also on sale, although they've been cheaper in the past.

For consoles, Walmart is matching Black Friday's $39.99 price tag for Dragon Age: Inquisition on all the platforms. Good game, even if the weekend multiplayer events are a dud for now.

$8 Valkyria Chronicles, $20 Isolation, & More 2014 Game Deals photo
$8 Valkyria Chronicles, $20 Isolation, & More 2014 Game Deals
by Dealzon

Gallia, to arms!

Several 2014 releases dropped to all new lows this weekend in GMG's "2014 Revisited" PC game sale. Leading the pack today is the Valkyria Chronicles PC port, which finds itself 50% cheaper than usual with a stacking code dropping the price to $8 (now dead, 24 hours only!). Other notables in the sale include Alien: Isolation, Wolfenstein: The New Order, and The Evil Within - all at or near their previous lowest prices.

Even after returning the title to its $349.99 price on January 4th, most retailers are still trying to offload the Xbox One AC Unity bundles, with Dell tossing in a free controller charging station ($25 value) to move some systems.

Also available are $50 discounts on the PS4 and a $40 off price break for a Wii U 32GB Deluxe bundle. We're pulling this out of the rumor department, but we suspect some of these systems will see permanent MSRP cuts in the near future - probably Spring/Summer 2015.

Brothers and #IDARB headline February's Games with Gold photo
Brothers and #IDARB headline February's Games with Gold
by Brett Makedonski

February's a tricky proposition if you're the procrastinating type when it comes to gobbling up your free videogames. A meager 28 days means that you need to get in gear and download the new Xbox Live Games with Gold early. No depending on a 31st to bail your lazy ass out.

Xbox has unveiled next month's Games with Gold, and they're mostly what we've come to expect -- a really good game, an indie title we don't know much about, and some filler. They are Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons, #IDARB, and Sniper Elite V2.

Brothers is the clear standout here, which can be downloaded from February 1-15. I gave it an excellent score a few years ago and managed to still be on the low end of most outlets. I've also got your back if you need help cleaning up the Achievements.

#IDARB is the lone Xbox One game. It's supposed to be zany and fun. Guess you'll have to find out for yourself. Then, there's Sniper Elite V2 bringing up the second half of the month on Xbox 360. By then, you'll probably just be looking forward to March's games.
