Killer Instinct gets a spooky ghost and a human torch

Hisako is a spooky ghost lady ripped straight from Japanese horror films with long black hair and creepy crawling intact, certainly a cool addition to Killer Instinct for Season 2. Also revealed in the trailer is t...

Free Legend of Dungeon expansion adds cats photo
Free Legend of Dungeon expansion adds cats
by Jordan Devore

More cats? More cats. And, hello, the ability to tame wild animals to fight on your behalf? I'm into it.

The dungeon brawler with the funny hats and great lighting, Legend of Dungeon, is getting the free Legend Heroes expansion today on Steam. It adds VR support for the Oculus Rift DK2, full controller support for menus, better dungeon tiles, and more bosses, items, monsters, and music.

Notably, though, eight-plus heroes have become lost in the depths and you'll want to save them not because it's the right thing to do, but because doing so unlocks new playable classes.

Uh, maybe don't walk toward that ominous light in The Evil Within

The next DLC episode of The Evil Within, The Consequence, picks up on April 21, 2015. Like The Assignment before it, Bethesda is starting us off with an extra brief teaser trailer. Somehow, the delivery of the sorta-out-of-c...

The Talos Principle bringing more deep thoughts with Road to Gehenna expansion

Players who took the time to really explore The Talos Principle might recognize the name Uriel. Though the base game is seen through the eyes of a particular simulation participant, evidence of others exists in the form of QR...

Evolve's new bug man character is just the best

What a magnificent specimen. Slim, a medic, is one of the four hunters joining Evolve across all platforms on Tuesday, March 31. There's also the "half-human walking tank" Torvald (assault), the hermit Crow (trapper) with his...

Sweet closure: Blade Kitten adds Episode 2 DLC years after its debut

Back in 2010, Atari published Blade Kitten, a middling sidescrolling action-platformer about a bounty hunter who is both a human and a cat. In the years since, developer Krome Studios (Ty the Tasmanian Tiger) acquired the rig...

Fire Emblem amiibo support for Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. doesn't add much photo
Fire Emblem amiibo support for Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. doesn't add much
by Chris Carter

Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. is out, and you can read the full verdict here on the core game. Of course, where there is amiibo functionality to be covered, I'll be there.

Right now, Code Name supports four total figures -- Marth, Ike, Robin, and Lucina. As of this week only the former two are actually out, with the latter pair launching in April. As such, I'll be covering Marth and Ike here, and cover Robin and Lucina at a later date.

Got it? Good.

Evolve's free map DLC is doing that 'Xbox first' thing photo
Evolve's free map DLC is doing that 'Xbox first' thing
by Jordan Devore

It's great to see free maps in a multiplayer-centric game like Evolve, but -- there just had to be a but -- timed platform exclusivity? Considerably less good. When the maps Broken Hill Mine and Broken Hill Foundry debut on March 31, they'll only be available for Xbox One. Following that initial release, PC and PlayStation 4 players will be able to download the pair on April 30.

"Mine" is set in a cave system whose hidden pathways should thoroughly confuse untrained hunters (like me!), while "Foundry" is more of an industrial zone containing crates of bohrium that the beast can consume (though doing so will make enough noise to give away its position).

If Turtle Rock Studios can keep a steady flow of new content going, there may still be a decently active player base by the time I dig into Evolve. Speaking of which, I need to check in on Titanfall.

Titanfall turns one year old, gives away all DLC for free photo
Titanfall turns one year old, gives away all DLC for free
by Brett Makedonski

Titanfall celebrates the first anniversary of its launch today. There might not be a grand showcase dedicated to everything that's happened to the game over the year, but EA and Respawn haven't forgotten about it altogether. They're quietly handing out gift bags to anyone who still wants to party.

All of Titanfall's add-ons across all three platforms -- Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC -- have been made free. Users can simply queue up the season pass on their preferred system. It's currently unknown how long this freebie will last, so it's best to pick it up now instead of waiting.

Happy Anniversary Titanfall [Titanfall]

This War of Mine DLC exists solely to help the kids

Dead or Alive 5's second ninja pack: $15 for 10 costumes

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is the fourth, final iteration of Dead or Alive 5, but that doesn't mean it can't have bugs or a $93 season pass for all the fighters' additional costumes. I guess Last Round doesn't mean "complet...
