Johnny Gat joins the roster of Divekick

When I first saw the trailer above, I thought "C'mon, Maurice Tan, former Destructoid writer/current Deep Silver PR dude, April Fools' Day was last week, you're a bit late with the jokes." But no, it's no joke; Saints Row ma...

Pocketwatch wraps up Monaco with one final chapter photo
Pocketwatch wraps up Monaco with one final chapter
by Jordan Devore

This is it for Monaco. Pocketwatch Games has already talked about its next project -- a real-time strategy game called Armada specifically built for gamepads -- and now that it has added a fourth, final chapter to the co-op heist game called Monaco: Fin, "it's time to move on."

Recapping the past several years, lead developer Andy Schatz wrote in a blog post that "EVERYTHING has changed" since development began in 2009. "My design philosophy, our lives, Pocketwatch, indie games as a movement, the internet as a whole." He also called Monaco "the culmination of lifelong dreams" for himself and producer/designer Andy Nguyen.

As for Fin, here's Schatz' description: "This campaign is brutally difficult (all eight levels are as hard as Identity) and it concludes the story of the Gentleman and his nefarious crew."

Another map, local multiplayer planned for Goat Simulator photo
Another map, local multiplayer planned for Goat Simulator
by Jordan Devore

Fans have been asking Coffee Stain Studios for Goat Simulator DLC and I can see why: what's there is tremendously funny, goofy stuff but there isn't a ton of it. We're in luck. The studio doesn't want to "charge for new content" so it'll have a free patch for us in mid-May.

Patch 1.1 introduces another playable map that's "roughly the size of the original map," local splitscreen multiplayer, more achievements, and new goats, to name a few of the additions.

Mods have helped extend the life of Goat Simulator but they're not all going to meet expectations set by the core game. Another map from Coffee Stain is exactly what I wanted.

There is a GIANT shark in Battlefield 4

Battlefield 4 has a ton of easter eggs. Such as the case with the Megalodon, which can be discovered in the Naval Strike DLC on the Nansha Strike map. And yes, you will die if you get caught underneath its jump.

Review: Call of Duty: Ghosts: Devastation photo
Review: Call of Duty: Ghosts: Devastation
by Chris Carter

Infinity Ward's DLC capabilities may not be up to snuff compared to Treyarch's, but the fact that they're trying is good enough for me. Call of Duty: Ghost's Onslaught DLC was a major step up in quality when compared to their prior milquetoast map packs, and somehow they've even managed to top Michael Meyer's cameo with the goddamn Predator.

Not all of the maps are created equal, but another strong Extinction mission and the Predator gimmick help elevate the package considerably.

Rusty's Real Deal Baseball is coming soon on 3DS

Rusty's Real Deal Baseball, one of the most absurd games I've seen from Nintendo in years, is coming to the 3DS on April 3rd. This is Nintendo's second free-to-play endeavor on the 3DS after Steel Diver: Sub Wars, and feature...

Battlefield 4 Naval Strike DLC arrives on Xbox One, still delayed on PC

Impressions: Sonic Lost World The Legend of Zelda Zone
by Chris Carter

Sonic Lost World may not have met everyone's expectations, but two free pieces of Nintendo-themed DLC sits right with me. We already got a chance to play the 2D Yoshi's Island-themed add-on back in December, but now Link has teamed up with Sonic for a grand 3D adventure.

Just like its predecessor, the "Legend of Zelda Zone" is very brief, but it's a wonderful glimpse into what Sega and Nintendo can accomplish together.

Last-minute issue causes Battlefield 4 Naval Strike PC delay

The Naval Strike DLC for Battlefield 4 launches today for Battlefield 4 Premium members ahead of its wide release on April 8, 2014. That was the plan, anyway. The new content (four maps, Titan mode, a hovercraft) will be late...

Review: BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode Two photo
Review: BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode Two
by Chris Carter

BioShock Infinite had an interesting run, with player reception all over the board. Some loved it, some hated it, others reveled in its celebration of violence, some disapproved. It's probably going to be a long time before we get to debate the merits of another BioShock game again though, considering the fact that Irrational Games has dissolved, and is handing over the franchise to 2K.

So that leaves Burial at Sea Episode Two as Irrational's last hurrah, and I'm pleased to say it's a vast improvement upon the foundation that was built in Episode One.

[Be warned: there are minor spoilers involving Episode One below.]

Day-one patch for inFamous: Second Son adds 19 missions photo
Day-one patch for inFamous: Second Son adds 19 missions
by Jordan Devore

As Chris mentioned in his review of inFamous: Second Son, Sucker Punch is expanding the core game with the Cole's Legacy and Paper Trail story arcs. The first of this content will be playable tomorrow as part of a day-one patch alongside difficulty balancing and technical improvements.

Paper Trail is a free set of 19 missions which are said to extend the game by approximately five hours and tell the "full story behind the [Department of Unified Protection's] occupation of Seattle" both in-game and online. This content was co-developed by alternate-reality game maker 42 Entertainment and also includes "web-based investigations."

As for Cole's Legacy, that's also free -- if you have a Limited Edition copy of Second Son. Sucker Punch says this is spread across four story missions, providing another hour of gameplay.

As much as it can be a pain to have day-one updates prevent you from immediately diving into a game you just cracked open, this will be a welcome sight.
