Rusty's Real Deal Baseball is coming soon on 3DS

Rusty's Real Deal Baseball, one of the most absurd games I've seen from Nintendo in years, is coming to the 3DS on April 3rd. This is Nintendo's second free-to-play endeavor on the 3DS after Steel Diver: Sub Wars, and feature...

Battlefield 4 Naval Strike DLC arrives on Xbox One, still delayed on PC

Impressions: Sonic Lost World The Legend of Zelda Zone
by Chris Carter

Sonic Lost World may not have met everyone's expectations, but two free pieces of Nintendo-themed DLC sits right with me. We already got a chance to play the 2D Yoshi's Island-themed add-on back in December, but now Link has teamed up with Sonic for a grand 3D adventure.

Just like its predecessor, the "Legend of Zelda Zone" is very brief, but it's a wonderful glimpse into what Sega and Nintendo can accomplish together.

Last-minute issue causes Battlefield 4 Naval Strike PC delay

The Naval Strike DLC for Battlefield 4 launches today for Battlefield 4 Premium members ahead of its wide release on April 8, 2014. That was the plan, anyway. The new content (four maps, Titan mode, a hovercraft) will be late...

Review: BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode Two photo
Review: BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode Two
by Chris Carter

BioShock Infinite had an interesting run, with player reception all over the board. Some loved it, some hated it, others reveled in its celebration of violence, some disapproved. It's probably going to be a long time before we get to debate the merits of another BioShock game again though, considering the fact that Irrational Games has dissolved, and is handing over the franchise to 2K.

So that leaves Burial at Sea Episode Two as Irrational's last hurrah, and I'm pleased to say it's a vast improvement upon the foundation that was built in Episode One.

[Be warned: there are minor spoilers involving Episode One below.]

Alucard scowls a lot in this new Lords of Shadow 2 DLC trailer

Alucard is all set to star in an all new DLC campaign for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2, and you can get a taste of his dual sword action in this new video. For the most part he kind of just stands there looking cool, but t...

Day-one patch for inFamous: Second Son adds 19 missions photo
Day-one patch for inFamous: Second Son adds 19 missions
by Jordan Devore

As Chris mentioned in his review of inFamous: Second Son, Sucker Punch is expanding the core game with the Cole's Legacy and Paper Trail story arcs. The first of this content will be playable tomorrow as part of a day-one patch alongside difficulty balancing and technical improvements.

Paper Trail is a free set of 19 missions which are said to extend the game by approximately five hours and tell the "full story behind the [Department of Unified Protection's] occupation of Seattle" both in-game and online. This content was co-developed by alternate-reality game maker 42 Entertainment and also includes "web-based investigations."

As for Cole's Legacy, that's also free -- if you have a Limited Edition copy of Second Son. Sucker Punch says this is spread across four story missions, providing another hour of gameplay.

As much as it can be a pain to have day-one updates prevent you from immediately diving into a game you just cracked open, this will be a welcome sight.

So, Battlefield 4's Naval Strike DLC looks pretty great

It's been months and months since I last touched Battlefield 4, for a number of reasons -- some of them the fault of the game, some of them not. I'm thinking the impending Naval Strike DLC, showcased rather excellently in th...

Review: Dead Rising 3: The Last Agent photo
Review: Dead Rising 3: The Last Agent
by Chris Carter

So far we've had three pieces of underwhelming Dead Rising 3 DLC, in the form of Operation Broken Eagle, Fallen Angel, and Chaos Rising. That's three parts of the four-part Season Pass, and now all that's left is The Last Agent.

It's a shame Capcom decided to charge money for these.

PvZ: Garden Warfare is getting substantial new DLC and it's free photo
PvZ: Garden Warfare is getting substantial new DLC and it's free
by Jordan Devore

I've been pleasantly surprised by the way Electronic Arts and PopCap have handled Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. First, the game itself is loads of fun -- the foundation is solid. But more than that, they don't have paid microtransactions yet even though they absolutely could have had those ready for day one, and the game's upcoming DLC is not only free, it's worthwhile.

Detailed today ahead of its March 18, 2014 release on Xbox One and Xbox 360, the Garden Variety Pack offers a new map, Chomp Town, and the eight-on-eight Gnome Bomb mode in which both plants and zombies try to destroy the other team's base.

There are also 24 new character ability upgrades -- three for each of the eight primary classes -- providing some additional (and much-needed) variety. Examples listed include a Super Goop attack for the Chomper which cements zombies, an Ultra Tackle for the All-Star, and a Solar Flare Beam for the way-too-happy Sunflower. Also be on the lookout for Pirate Zombies in the existing Sharkbite Shores and Port Scallywag maps.
