Super Smash 3DS will work with the New 3DS stick, but not the Circle Pad Pro

According to a post on Nintendo's website detailing the breakdown of the New 3DS and how it interacts with Super Smash Bros., it appears as if shoulder button and C-Stick support are confirmed. It makes sense, right? Well app...

Nintendo is streaming games for eight hours on Friday

I was quite fond of Nintendo's Treehouse streams during E3 this year and it's so nice to see the company continue down that path. You all seem to like them too. The next major stream from Nintendo of America's product develop...

There are some good Club Nintendo game rewards this month
by Jordan Devore

Now, when I say this is a decent month for Club Nintendo game offers, I'm asking you to focus on Kirby Super Star, Super Punch-Out!!, and Art Style: PiCTOBiTS. Two Super Nintendo classics and an awesome, underplayed puzzler. Go ahead and ignore the rest, if you would.

  • Mario Bros. (Wii U) - 200 Coins
  • Kirby Super Star ( Wii U) - 200 Coins
  • Super Punch-Out!! (Wii) - 250 Coins
  • NES Play Action Football (Wii) - 200 Coins
  • Super Mario Bros. (3DS) - 200 Coins
  • The Legend of Zelda (3DS) - 200 Coins
  • Touch Solitaire (3DS) - 150 Coins
  • Art Style: PiCTOBiTS (3DS) - 200 Coins

No, really. Start up your 3DS and get to downloading.

At long last, I'll be able to get a shiny Gengar photo
At long last, I'll be able to get a shiny Gengar
by Jordan Devore

Gengar only became my favorite Pokémon in the last few years, but now that it's my bestie, I don't see that ever changing. (Sorry, Feraligatr.) Matter of fact, I'd even be willing to step foot in a GameStop for a distribution event related to the ghostly Pokémon -- true love.

There are two events planned for Pokémon X/Y in the United States this year and both require leaving the house. The first one is for a shiny Gengar with its Gengarite Mega Stone, obtainable via a "special code card" at GameStop from October 13 - October 26.

The next event is for Diance -- claim yours from October 27 - November 16 at the game retailer. The Diancite Mega Stone isn't included here; you'll need to earn it in either Pokémon Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire once those titles launch on November 21.

Retro City Rampage DX will get a 'New 3DS' update

Retro City Rampage is a pretty polarizing game around these parts, but I found myself really digging it, especially the well-crafted 3DS port. For everyone who still plays it off and on, you might be happy to know that creato...

Square Enix wants to bring Dragon Quest X west

Square Enix producers Yuu Miyake and Noriyoshi Fujimoto told Siliconera they would "love to" publish Dragon Quest X overseas. That doesn't mean it's terribly likely, though. “In terms of this being an MMO, again, we hav...

Next Level Games was working on a Metroid title

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon was one of the games that helped turn the 3DS around back when it was struggling to inspire sales. It's a fantastic game, one of the best on the console. Sadly, it may also may be part of why we hav...

Why are we excited about these New 3DS packaging shots?

An informal poll of the Destructoid staff reveals that we're all senselessly excited for this New 3DS. It doesn't make sense. None of us need one. We should be mad at Nintendo for having us wanting another iteration. But we'r...

Atlus shares first look the Persona Q localization

It's always strange hearing a historically silent protagonist speak for the first time, and things are doubly weird for us here today thanks to these English trailers for Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth. Boy, is it unsettling hearing those guys talk! Persona Q launches in North America and Europe this November.

Activision announces sidescroller Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Danger of the Ooze

If you are like me, you have not really followed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a couple decades. The last thing I really remember was 1991's The Secret of the Ooze and Turtles in Time on the Super NES. Sure, I have hear...

Nintendo Download: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call demo

After a fairly enjoyable Mega Man August streak, we're back to the normal routine, and it isn't particularly exciting this week. On the Wii U we have Nobunaga's Ambition, Cubeman 2, and Ice Cream Surfer. For the 3DS, we ...

Japanese Super Smash Bros. 3DS commercial is cute & pastel

The N64 Super Smash Bros. commercial will probably stick with me more than any other TV commercial for a videogame, but this 3DS-focused Smash Bros. commercial from Japan is nice in its own right.
