Conan O'Brien will give you a clue in LEGO Batman 3

Conan O'Brien, the famed late-night talk show host and self-professed clueless gamer, will be reversing roles of sorts for his part in LEGO Batman 3. Instead of being confounded by videogames, he's going to be playing himsel...

Okay, this Mega Man armor for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is cute

Man, Capcom is killing it with these Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate crossovers. And by "it," I of course mean Sonic the Hedgehog. He never stood a chance. This Palico armor styled after Mega Man is super cute but, admittedly, it'...

Donkey Kong Country trilogy returning to Virtual Console in the UK

Back in November 2012, Nintendo removed the Donkey Kong Country series from the Wii's Virtual Console for some reason that, to my knowledge, was never publicly addressed. But those games will resurface this month on Wii U alo...

Relive that time Kirby was a golf ball with Club Nintendo photo
Relive that time Kirby was a golf ball with Club Nintendo
by Jordan Devore

Coming off of Kirby Super Star and Art Style: PiCTOBiTS, guess I should have lowered my expectations for this month's Club Nintendo digital game rewards. Too late. Actually, it's not all bad:

  • Wrecking Crew (Wii U) - 200 Coins
  • Kirby's Dream Course (Wii U) - 200 Coins
  • Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II (Wii) - 200 Coins
  • Maboshi's Arcade (Wii) - 250 Coins
  • Kersploosh! (3DS) - 150 Coins
  • Brain Age Express: Math (3DS) - 200 Coins
  • 3D Classics: Kid Icarus (3DS) - 200 Coins
  • Donkey Kong (3DS) - 150 Coins

Tempted to go for the oddity that is Kirby's Dream Course. It's an isometric golf game in which Kirby is the ball, so, yeah. Kersploosh!, a game about falling, is worth a look too.

Add a shiny Gengar to your Pokémon collection photo
Add a shiny Gengar to your Pokémon collection
by Jordan Devore

Now through October 26, you'll be able to score a shiny Gengar holding Gengarite, the stone necessary for its Mega Evolution, at GameStop. Simply bring in your copy of either Pokémon X or Y for a free redeemable code.

If you're thinking of skipping this video, allow me to point out that it shows Mega Gengar spraying toxic throw-up ("Sludge Wave," officially) on a pack of Mime Juniors. It's what they get for being all small 'n' creepy. The move can't be learned in normal gameplay, for what it's worth.

This'll be a good get. But, leading into the Ruby / Sapphire remakes, I'm contemplating giving away (well, Wonder Trading) all of my Pokémon. Going in fresh. Decisions, decisions.

Are you getting Nintendo mash-up fatigue?

[Art by Hakuramen] Back in the 1980's, rock band Aerosmith and rap group Run DMC did a cover of Aerosmith's Walk This Way. It was an older song, but the novelty, evocative quality, and skills present in the cover made it a mu...

Smash Bros. clones didn't 'increase required man-hours'

Smash Bros. for the 3DS has been out for a week now, and while reception has been generally positive, there are naturally going to be some gripes after the hype dies down -- fighting Little Mac on a totally flat course, 3DS n...

Switching face plates on the New 3DS looks easy enough

Feels like the New 3DS was only just announced the other week, but it's already available in Japan. Nintendo has been busy uploading videos like this one which details how to swap out the system's face plates. Interestingly, the stylus can be used to pry them open. Neat design! There are also a ton of videos showing the various 3DS themes.

Roaches beware: Terra Formars title headed for 3DS

According to the latest issue of Weekly Young Jump, a Terra Formars game is headed for 3DS, for lots of maximum roach-killing action. It's like a can of Raid, but for your Nintendo handheld. The game, tentatively titled Terra...

I have no objections to the fact that Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is out in December

I'm really loving the idea of bringing back the Phoenix Wright trilogy on new systems. iOS was a great way for people to experience the series for the first time, and now, you can get a little more traditional with the 3...

You can fly around in the clouds in the new Pokemon and oh my god this is amazing

New details are coming out for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire by way of the CoroCoro magazine, and it's looking good. Not only do Latios and Latias have Mega Evolutions, but Megas for Pidgeot and Beedrill are...

Smash Bros. Amiibo up on Amazon for $13 a pop

The Super Smash Bros. Amiibo figures are up on Amazon and, as much as I try not to get excited about toys, they look pretty alright.  I will just take solace in the fact that the only piece of nerd junk that crowds my desk, a little two inch Luigi that I bought for one dollar (not 13!) in Chinatown (not the movie!), is better.

Nintendo Download: Bayonetta 2 demo!

One of the biggest things to come to the Wii U eShop in a while is the Bayonetta 2 demo. The game is just a few weeks away, and you can finally get a taste of it. Spoiler -- it plays a lot like Bayonetta 1, and that's only a ...

Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley sprouts November 4
by Kyle MacGregor

Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley launches November 4, Natsume announced today.

The 3DS farming simulator marks the first occasion Natsume has internally developed a Harvest Moon title. All previous entries in the series came as localizations of Marvelous' Bokujō Monogatari franchise, the latest of which is coming west this winter as Story of Seasons.

Damn it, Pac-Man, I believed in you!

"Would you like to bet your earnings and try to extend your win streak?" Hmm. I was going to call it quits in Super Smash Bros.' Spectator Mode. I had too good of a streak going to continue pressing my luck, but the break bet...

The first footage of Renegade Kid's Xeodrifter is totally doin' it for me

In August, it was revealed that Mutant Mudds developer Renegade Kid was working on a metroidvania for Nintendo 3DS titled Xeodrifter. It's about an interstellar vagrant, and the game was supposedly born from a Moon...
