Nintendo gave me Yoshi's eggs
by RobertSumma
P1000085.JPG After a long long dreary day here in NYC, I finally came back to my office and opened up a wonderful package from Nintendo. As you can see, this sweet (literally) swag package is for Yoshi's Island DS. Check out those yummy eggs. I wonder what they taste like. But should I ruin dinner? Rumor: Destructoid mole confirms big Microsoft announcements coming around Nov. 22

You know how other Web sites and magazines have their own "mole"? Well, we have our own as well. This person is fairly deep on the inside and will of course, always remain anonymous. But, fear not, our mole is legit. So, al...

The Burger King gameplay videos have arrived!

Here they are boys and girls, just like I promised. All three games are represented here in video form and I must say, after spending roughly 10 minutes total with each so far, that Big Bumpin' is my favorite of the bun...

All three are due to hit your Whopper on Nov. 19 for $3.99 a piece. Wow, this really is the best gaming month eva! More pics after the jump. I will try to have video up later tonight.

The 1UP PS3 reception in video form
by RobertSumma
You know, I used to really really care that I didn't get my PlayStation 3 yet. A video like this would just make me go all bat nuts and crap. But now, thanks to my beloved Gears, I really don't care anymore. So, you can keep your PS3 1UP, I don't care! Really I don't. OK, maybe I do care. Where the hell is my PS3 Sony!!!!view full story + comments

Bullet Witch: Not as crappy as you think
by RobertSumma
bulletwitch-opt.jpg So, after peeling myself away from Gears, I made a visit to Atari today to check out Bullet Witch for the Xbox 360 -- due out in sometime in February. My assumptions of what to expect of the game were merely a mix of this: It's a Japanese game and it features some kinda hot chick ... oh, and I think 1UP said it sucked. Other than that, I didn't really know a whole lot and never got a chance to play it myself. Well, today, I finally got to test drive the sucker, and you know what, it ain't half bad. The animations are fairly solid -- I've never seen a girl character walk so good in any game -- and the effects and shooting mechanic is rather well put together. I was able to walk through some of the early stages of the game and experience some rather cool features like the magical abilities your character has -- all of which can be upgraded. She has some telekentic force power where she can throw objects forward and this cool magical wall and even bring lightning down to wreck sh*t for the enemy. All in all, in my brief time with it, I can definitely say it will be a game to put on your radar. At the very least, don't shun it, for now, despite what you may have heard from earlier impressions. It's certainly nothing revolutionary, but it could very well end up being a solid title to have in the library.view full story + comments

Sony poo poos on Microsoft's parade

Just as Microsoft got all excited about their deal with Akimbo and the downloadable TV and movie service, Sony comes right in to say, "Uh, no, you suck!" To which Microsoft said, "Wha what? What did we do to you? Wahhhh!" S...

1UP gives Gears a perfect 10

Yes, I'm in Gears of War overdrive right now. If you know me, you know I can be very critical of games that suck in any way, so the fact that I'm so in love with this title right now should tell you something. Lucky for me,...

Gears of War: I'm hooked like crack

I had high hopes for Gears of War. In fact, my hopes were so high that there was no possible way Cliffy and company could live up to them. Lucky for me and you, they absolutely did. I can't say enough good things about this...

Looking at all the games and systems coming out this month, I began to wonder: Is this the best month in video game history? Besides the four triple-A titles that just landed this week, we also have the Wii and PlayStation ...

Gears of War: The first hour

So, I'm about an hour or two into the game. I chose to go the hardcore route, or whatever the middle level is called, instead of the wussy beginner level. I'm way to uber for such nonsense. Well, they aren't kidding when th...

Microsoft loves us, yes they do
by RobertSumma
Msoftswag.jpg So I just got back from this great little event Microsoft held at Blvd in NYC to celebrate their upcoming holiday titles. The event was nicely laid out with free booze and a ton of games set up all over. But I had only one thing on my mind: Gears of War. After making the rounds and chatting it up with a few of the other gaming journos I knew there (even Chris Grant from Joystiq), I found out where Gears was and took my Stella and parked my ass there the entire night. Highlights of my Gears of War multiplayer killing spree: the curb stomp. I can't tell you how f'ing satisfying it is to do that to the opposing player. Each time I would do it to someone in the room, I physically got up and yelled, "Curb stomp bitch!" Oh, what a glorious night. Thank you Microsoft. Above is the sweet little swag bag they handed out as we left. Check out that wireless headset, mmmm. Now excuse me while I rock sh*t in Gears.view full story + comments
