Nintendo gave me Yoshi's eggs
by RobertSumma
P1000085.JPG After a long long dreary day here in NYC, I finally came back to my office and opened up a wonderful package from Nintendo. As you can see, this sweet (literally) swag package is for Yoshi's Island DS. Check out those yummy eggs. I wonder what they taste like. But should I ruin dinner? Here they are boys and girls, just like I promised. All three games are represented here in video form and I must say, after spending roughly 10 minutes total with each so far, that Big Bumpin' is my favorite of the bun...

by RobertSumma
You know, I used to really really care that I didn't get my PlayStation 3 yet. A video like this would just make me go all bat nuts and crap. But now, thanks to my beloved Gears, I really don't care anymore. So, you can keep your PS3 1UP, I don't care! Really I don't. OK, maybe I do care. Where the hell is my PS3 Sony!!!!view full story + comments

Bullet Witch: Not as crappy as you think
by RobertSumma
bulletwitch-opt.jpg So, after peeling myself away from Gears, I made a visit to Atari today to check out Bullet Witch for the Xbox 360 -- due out in sometime in February. My assumptions of what to expect of the game were merely a mix of this: It's a Japanese game and it features some kinda hot chick ... oh, and I think 1UP said it sucked. Other than that, I didn't really know a whole lot and never got a chance to play it myself. Well, today, I finally got to test drive the sucker, and you know what, it ain't half bad. The animations are fairly solid -- I've never seen a girl character walk so good in any game -- and the effects and shooting mechanic is rather well put together. I was able to walk through some of the early stages of the game and experience some rather cool features like the magical abilities your character has -- all of which can be upgraded. She has some telekentic force power where she can throw objects forward and this cool magical wall and even bring lightning down to wreck sh*t for the enemy. All in all, in my brief time with it, I can definitely say it will be a game to put on your radar. At the very least, don't shun it, for now, despite what you may have heard from earlier impressions. It's certainly nothing revolutionary, but it could very well end up being a solid title to have in the library.view full story + comments

1UP gives Gears a perfect 10

Yes, I'm in Gears of War overdrive right now. If you know me, you know I can be very critical of games that suck in any way, so the fact that I'm so in love with this title right now should tell you something. Lucky for me,...
