Super Time Force lands more PlayStation characters

Be honest: if you were putting together an intergalactic team of time travelers to help save the universe and also destroy it a little bit, you'd enlist Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida. His Twitter game is tha...

This Japanese Hotline Miami art is sick as hell

Danganronpa maker Spike Chunsoft is publishing Hotline Miami: Collected Edition, a localized bundle of the original gorefest and its thumping sequel Wrong Number, in Japan this year. Ahead of its June 25 release for PS4 and PS Vita, here's the bundle's slick promo art and logo. You've earned a new fan today, @b0neface. [Via Shane Bettenhausen]

SOMA is in beta, but we can't play it (and that's probably for the best)

The next spooky game from the team behind Amnesia: The Dark Descent is officially in beta. No, you can't play it yet. Neither can I. But around 40 people are testing a "pretty much" content-complete build of SOMA right now, w...

Mario, Sonic, and other gaming icons have put on some weight

Outside of occasional gags like Doughnut Drake in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, I tend to forget how generally fit most mainstream videogame characters are. Leave it to artist Alex Solis to remind me of that fact with his upcom...

Samorost 3 looks like the surreal point-and-click adventure of my dreams

The last time I wrote about Samorost 3, I expressed surprise and delight that Amanita Design was making another one of these charming point-and-click adventure games. Today, a year and a half later, I could do the same -- I ...

This is our last chance to buy Virtua Tennis 4 digitally

Sega plans to pull Virtua Tennis 4 from Steam on April 23, 2015. After that point, the title (which is still tacked on to Games for Windows Live, darn it all) "will be unavailable to purchase digitally." Good news is tha...

Snappier Bloodborne load times coming this month

How much time have we spent staring at that damned Bloodborne logo during the game's long loading screens? Actually, I'm not so sure I want to know. With save files totaling 50+ hours of play, my number would be gross. From S...

No escape: Hearthstone is now playable on phones

Blizzard's digital collectible card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft (that's harthstone, not herthstone) will be available as a free download on iPhone and Android phones beginning today. If you mispronounce the name, Kyle will break into your home, drop your phone in the toilet, and steal all of your rice. He told me that and whispered while saying it so he means business here.

I'd play this Bloodborne demake

The first time I saw Eileen the Crow, I was startled and almost attacked her on the spot. That would've gone badly. She's a powerful hunter -- easily one of the coolest in Yharnam -- and turning against her even late into th...

Look away from these 4K screens of The Witcher 3

If an image or video is tagged as 4K, yeah, I'm more than likely gonna click on it. Even if it's media showing a game at a level of graphical fidelity I can't possibly attain with my computer. Misery loves company, so please ...

First episode of Telltale's Game of Thrones free on Android photo
First episode of Telltale's Game of Thrones free on Android
by Jordan Devore

$4.99 is the usual asking price for episodes of Telltale's Game of Thrones series, but not today, valued Android user. The debut episode, Iron From Ice, is free if you download through Amazon.

In his review, Darren said the game "...feels like a punch to the gut, and it sets the stage for an intensely emotionally draining experience." (That's a compliment, I'm pretty sure.)

In an addendum, he added that "If you know for sure that you will never go back and read the books or watch the HBO series, then this is an okay place to start. If you think there is a chance you will want to see the beginning, then I'd pass on this for now."

I hope Veryman.Expert becomes America's next great pastime photo
I hope Veryman.Expert becomes America's next great pastime
by Jordan Devore

Think about the weirdest thing you saw today. Veryman.Expert is probably weirder.

It's a browser-based god game, so to speak, about creating men. There are no losers, ever.

You can adjust your man's movements -- a touch of Leanin here, a lil Big Big there -- and deck him out in muscle patterns like Human Pouch and Torque. You can put your man in space, or dress him as a Hot Beef Boy. You can even feed him nachos laced with stereoscopic 3D-inducing drugs.

All that, and when you're finished, you can export your man as a .gif for the betterment of society.

Veryman.Expert is my new obsession.

Stretching Mario's face will never get old

Now that it's downloadable for Wii U, Super Mario 64 has entered my life again. It wasn't my favorite Nintendo 64 title -- heck, it wasn't even my favorite 3D platformer on the console -- but it was a formative game and, com...
