Before Conker's Bad Fur Day, there was Twelve Tales

Rare reminisces about the N64 days
Oct 02
// Jordan Devore
Rare has shared another behind-the-scenes video about Conker and this one sure brings me back. Conker's Quest, as it was originally called before undergoing a name change to Twelve Tales: Conker 64, debuted at E3 in 1997. It ...

'Speed. Traffic. And crashing.'

Our beloved Burnout was in the news earlier this week and here it is again. Criterion stated that it's not working on an HD collection for the series because it's too busy with "newer, even better things." Now, Three Fields E...

Gosh, I keep forgetting about Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. I've always been more of a Paper Mario man than a Mario & Luigi guy, but this fusion of the two RPG series showed promise at E3. They're both fun and funny on th...

Zangief can't seem to keep his mouth closed

What a goof
Oct 01
// Jordan Devore
You saw Zangief's Street Fighter V introduction trailer. Now let's look at a bunch of pictures of him with his mouth agape and one incredible shot in which he has the flesh tone of a hotdog. This game makes for a pretty good gallery.

Soar the island-filled skies of Worlds Adrift

Oct 01 // Jordan Devore
[embed]313407:60583:0[/embed] There's Spider-Man-style swinging at 7:15. Ship construction, which is done by hand, starts at 10:50. Williams demonstrates flying at 19:20 and even alone, without the threat of other players, it looks terrifying. Then again, he clearly knows how to grapple and isn't afraid of plummeting to his death. Lastly, you can take photos (including selfies!) and frame them. See that at 23:20.

But watch out for pirates
Bossa Studios (Surgeon Simulator, I am Bread) is making an open-world MMO about building airships, flying them to floating islands, and screwing over others (probably). You interested? The developers were in town, so we sent Rey to take a look at that game, Worlds Adrift, and he put together this in-depth video with narration provided by designer Luke Williams.

It's too early to pay for the Fallout 4 Season Pass

We don't know what's in it
Oct 01
// Jordan Devore
Bethesda opened pre-orders for the Fallout 4 Season Pass today, but hold up for a minute. We know it's $29.99, and that the game's first DLC is expected to roll out in 2016. We also know that there won't be platform-exclusive...

If we can be bread, we can be anything. Looks like sentient boxes are next. I don't pay much attention to what's happening on Steam Greenlight these days, but the occasional game still rises from the depths and onto my radar....

Sep 30

It's the 30th anniversary of national treasure Back to the Future and Telltale is using that as an excuse to bring back its adventure game series on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Notably, Back to the Future: The Game...

I have a browser tab open for a used copy of Chibi-Robo, and I don't trust myself to walk away. It's one of the few GameCube games I regret missing. But $60, if I'm lucky? I don't know. My mind is on the delightful household ...

Because it's all you're getting
Sep 30
// Jordan Devore
Call of Duty: Black Ops III will have multiplayer and the usual star-studded Zombies mode on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but no campaign -- it's too "ambitious" for last-generation hardware. If you want Christopher Meloni (and who doesn't?), you'll need to play on PC, Xbox One, or PS4.

Last-minute delay
Sep 26
// Jordan Devore
NIS has passed along word that Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance won't reach Europe until October 19, 2015. This one-week delay stems from "unforeseen circumstances," according to a representative, and affects "all retailers in the European region, as well as the digital release." As for the North American launch, it's still on for October 6, 2015 as originally scheduled. Watch out for those bears!
