This trailer for Battlefield 4's Final Stand DLC, like many Battlefield videos before it, makes me want to play the series. They're packed full of cool moment after cool moment that you could, in theory, encounter yourself i...

Hyrule Warriors' amiibo support is boring

Nintendo has explained which amiibo toys do what in Hyrule Warriors and, frankly, the game's support for the near-field communication figurines is rather dull. With Link (or Toon Link), players can get the Spinner weapon from...

Fresh Club Nintendo rewards: Metroid II, Kirby's Pinball Land, Pilotwings

Do you have any Club Nintendo currency left this late in the year? I do not. I'm not even sure where my Coins went. I only have two remaining low-value surveys to fill out (though Super Smash Bros. is on the way), and that's ...

Free 'Goat MMO Simulator' update coming Thursday

Coffee Stain Studios hasn't stopped supporting its wonky physics sandbox game Goat Simulator, thank goodness. The mobile version didn't entice me, but this fantasy-themed Goat MMO Simulator expansion is exactly the type of w...

Arkanoid vs. Space Invaders should have happened years ago

I was too young to get into Space Invaders, influential as it was, but Arkanoid is my jam. Taito is working on a mobile game for iOS and Android that combines the two properties, according to Game Watch, and I'm loving the so...

343 'working 24/7' to fix Halo matchmaking issues

If I owned an Xbox One, I'd be digging into Halo: The Master Chief Collection right about now. Well, attempting to, anyway: the compilation has issues with multiplayer matchmaking taking forever or otherwise not working as i...

Review: Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 1 photo
Review: Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 1
by Jordan Devore

Mario Kart 8's first DLC pack has Link riding a horse-shaped bike called the Master Cycle. And, good lord, Mute City from the beloved but still dormant F-Zero series. Also, a track based on Excitebike with a killer remix. Are you even going to read this review?

Don't answer that. Let me have this moment.

Roller coaster crashing game ScreamRide will be budget priced

Frontier Developments' ScreamRide is a game about building and crashing roller coasters and while I'd prefer to play something like that on PC (or just scratch that itch in RollerCoaster Tycoon where I can also charge people ...

Hardline 36: The land of broken games
by Jordan Devore

This week on Hardline, Steven, Brett, and I spoke about Avalanche finally confirming Just Cause 3 after all those leaks, Brett's review of Assassin's Creed Rogue, and funny faceless and infinite-jump glitches in Assassin's Creed Unity and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric.

The highlight of this episode is by far Steven's cat.

For the audio-only episode, you can subscribe on iTunes and RSS or download directly.

Let's watch Assassin's Creed Unity glitch out to the tune of 'Barbie Girl'

Kyle sent me this compilation of Assassin's Creed Unity glitches and, six minutes later, I'm calling it: I've spent more time watching these games mess up than I have playing them. When they screw up, they tend to do so spectacularly. Best glitch happens at 4:26.

GOG.com is giving away Mount & Blade and The Witcher 2 photo
GOG.com is giving away Mount & Blade and The Witcher 2
by Jordan Devore

GOG.com is now running its Big Fall Sale and beyond discounts on the classics and indie games, there are a few freebies to claim. For Mount & Blade, a medieval sandbox title with tons of mods, head to the site's front page in the next 48 hours and scroll down to the giveaway banner. Done.

The process for scoring a free copy of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (and some film called The Gamers: Director's Cut) is slightly more involved. You'll have to return to GOG.com daily to collect seven stamps (i.e., click on a box on the front page). Painless, but easy to forget.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if the just-added Star Wars: X-Wing or TIE Fighter go on sale.

[Thanks, jayjayjojo]

Tickets are $45 for a single-day badge and $95 for a three-day badge. Scalpers be damned. I've never made it out to Boston, but I'd like to go, one day. The weather that time of year, though!
