I can come up with a number of reasons why, up until now, I haven't heard about this independent film, Max Payne: Payne and Redemption. For starters, as solid as the series is, I usually fall asleep when anyone uses the deadly combination of the words "Max" and the oh-so-clever "Payne."

But I'll be damned, because this trailer for the British-made independent film (based on the Remedy Entertainment videogame series) looks pretty hot. The film's narrative takes place between the events of the first and second Max Payne games, and focuses on exploring what makes Payne tick ... which of course means bullet-time and prescription drugs he finds just lying around all over the place.

This first film is the third chapter in an ambitious six part project (wrap your head around that!), and I definitely wish the team the best of luck on actually completing the project. I'm just hoping they found an actor that can nail that "constipayted" look of the film's title character.

Wait, this first film is the third chapter in a six part project? What is this, some Star Wars wannabe?

heh, I remember years ago the manual for the first game said a movie would be in the works... I actually thought they had forgotten about it... ::crosses fingers:: don't screw it up guys!

ps: my cast for Max Payne is the guy who becomes Nemesis in RE:Apocalypse. The whole first movie I swear he looks just like a Max Payne that hasn't had his life fucked

Payne always did need to recreate the Mr. Blonde scene.

I'd pay money to see Payne It Forward. Real money.

Was the overly dramatic choir really necessary, especially for what is essentially, a completely out of context, borderline non-sequiter...er...I guess trailer?

I mean, I never thought I'd find myself on the defense of Uwe Boll, but...how does cinematography lifted from the Billie Jean music video with two lines of out of context dialogue...and...I think I saw David Bowie from Labyrinth in there too...make this any better than anything Uwe Boll has done?

Eh, I'd wait before getting too excited. This shows almost nothing.

Actually looks quite professional, way more so than any of Mr. Boll's work. Will probably end up being hilariously shite though. Which may be a good thing...?

It looks polished, but does nothing to get me excited about the project.

Also, is it intended to be a short or feature length film?

Nice, the max payne world was awesome, in that dark noir-ish setting and overall coolness of payne. I wanna play that game again.

I hope they dont f**k it up. I wish that they would show Max's face, because he better look like the one the game. I've looked all over for information and can't seem to find anything but this trailer. When is this thing going to come out because all it said was "2007"....also is there going to be a Max Payne 3 because I keep hearing about it but all I found was take-two confirmed it but it also seems as if they're denying it too.
