God of War I & II in 720p coming in November to PS3 photo

We had hints about it, and despite the fact that God of War III producer Stig Assmussen played dumb about it, here it is: God of War Collection is coming to the PlayStation 3 this holiday.

This Blu-ray release will feature God of War and God of War II on one disc, both "remastered" with anti-aliased graphics, and running at 60 frames-per-second at 720p. On top of that, Sony is adding trophies. So in case two of the best third-person action games of last-gen remastered on one disc wasn't enough for you, there's that, too.

No word on price or release date specifics, but I think it goes without saying that this is a must have for fans of the series, or those who missed out. Do want. And now.

[Update: Word out of the GameStop Manager's Conference taking place in Las Vegas this week is that the God of War Collection will retail for $39.99, and will be available this November.]

Boom. Bought. Only way it would have been better was if they had included Chains of Olympus on the same disc with the same treatment.

Still, this is a fantastic package. I never got a chance to beat the original games, so I'm definitely picking this up.

First Metroid, now God of War... what series is next? Is this already an early emergence of the Collections & Anthology with last gen games?

blagh, more and more reason for me to get a Slim.

If Sony put an Ico and SoTC style disc i nthe same vein as this? ugh, I think it'd be too much fun to handle.

Fuck. I know I'm going to buy it although I've got 1 and 2 already. I wish they would release more games like this. How about a Metal Gear Collection? Not very useful but cool to own.

God of War Collection offers substantial value to PS3 consumers, the compilation of both best-selling games costing just $39.99 MSRP.

THe price is kinda high for last gen games, but i am still buying this.

Goddamnit! I got these both from Goozex a couple weeks ago to prepare for GoW III! It might just be worth going through them both again for the trophies and remastered graphix.

There's another list to the games that will come out for the PS3 that I actually care about. 2009 and early 2010 are my Wii and DS time if I can get enough money to get a PS3 mid-year 2010 then this will be on my list of DO WANTs.

I liked it better when they were asking if we wanted it packed in with a GOW3 Collector's Edition. But this is still pretty sweet.

This is some of the best news i've heard in quite a while. I was wondering how I was gunna play through the first two GOW games before III game out. Without a bc PS3 or a PS2 it was looking grim. IN COMES THIS!! Absolutely will buy this!

Not much of a collection when there are only three titles out there. Speaking of which, why no 'C.O.O.'? It's a great title. One of the best on the PSP. Would it be that much effort fixing it up (enhancing the graphics changing the button layout)?

@ hpv

I was initially thinking the same thing until I realized said collector's edition would probably cost $100. This way you're still paying the same price, and you can play GOW I & II a few months before III comes out.

So I have to beat the first God of War on the hardest difficulty AGAIN? Just to get trophies?

I don't know if my sanity (or controller) can handle it.
