In case you were wondering, this is what gaming on a 269-inch screen looks like photo

If you are heavily into electronics and cannot stand to be jealous of anyone, at any time, I advise you to leave now before it's too late.

Gizmodo's Adam Frucci recently got to appear as a guest on CollegeHumor's videogame show, Bleep Bloop, where he had the chance to play some Xbox 360 games on a 269" television. Here are his results.

The screen, which is comprised of 21 projectors aimed at 42 mirrors, is an astounding 11 feet tall and 120 feet long. Since the screen is not designed with games in mind, the gang was only able to play on a portion of the full thing; as you can see in the picture above, a "portion" of the full size is still f***ing insane.

I find it kind of funny that one of the games they decided to play was Mirror's Edge, what with the whole motion sickness thing and all. I'm not entirely sure I could stand to see it in motion for more than a few seconds without projectile vomiting, but that's just me.

I wonder if Mirror's Edge seems more realistic when palying it on such a large screen, because it sure looks so from the screenshot.

120 feet long? I think you mean just '12' feet? or is it really 120? that would be a hella stretched image.

Wow. Descent would be awesome on that. Nice find.

Mirror's Edge on that screen will make so many people motion sick, it's not funny.

Impressive, but I don't like the look of games on anything much bigger than like 52..just overkill, motion sickness, exposing all the flaws..etc..

Not that I wouldn't try it!

Nope, it really is 120 feet long -- that's why I said it's not designed for games; the aspect ratio is all off.

See the blank screen to the left and right of Mirror's Edge? Together, those sections all makes up the full image when used to display art, which is what this beast is ordinarily used for. Crazy, huh?

120 feet? No game in existence would look good on that.

I play my games on my 1080p projector which throws an image with around a 100" diagonal on my wall. I can honestly say I'm not jealous of this story because any bigger of a screen would not be reasonable, provided I wanted to play games from the comfort of my living room (which I do).

@Dan CiTi
Imagine if someone retooled a side-scrolling platformer or shooter to have the entire level displayed on the screen at once. That'd look good.

Man they should have played Crysis cause you can stretch that game pretty wide and still play it well.

@ jsutcliffe

The only bummer about that is you'd have to move along with your character the length of the level. Although maybe that could go in the "pro" category, and that idea is essentially the new Wii Fit

EPIC

I would totally want one of those.

Does Mirror's Edge really cause motion sickness? I played it on a 100" picture from my projector without incident. Yet, Half-Life 2 would make me feel a little queasy.
