In BaraBariBall you lose your balls when you jump

6:30 PM on 04.16.2014

I played BaraBariBall over a year ago at GDC 2013 and it was fun as heck. I liked it BaraBari much. But it's still not out. Not yet, anyways. It's coming this year to PC, PS4, and PS3 as a part of the amazing Sportsfriends. Holmes and Caitlin Cooke played it at PAX.

I feel like the floating ball meter has been added since I played, but maybe it was just too long ago for me to remember. I also can't remember what I had for breakfast or my wife's face. It's sad. But BaraBariBall is fun.

Review: Sportsfriends

Sportsfriends is another example of a last-minute Kickstarter save. Although it didn't look like it was going to get funded, fans came together on the final stretch and gave the game a chance -- which leads us into the PS3 and PS4 release this month. So was it worth the wait? Well that depends on how much you want to play Johann Sebastian Joust.more

It's been a long road to releasing Sportsfriends but this collection of four fun local multiplayer games is almost there. The PS3 and PS4 versions of the game launch May 6 in North America ($14.99) and a day later in Europe ...more

Sportsfriends sees slight delay, PC version coming sooner

Something tells me a lot of you have forgotten about Sportsfriends. Maybe because it has the word, "sports" in the title. But don't forget. Sportsfriends is a bundle of magical, incredibly fun local multiplayer games. And wh...more

Sportsfriends narrowly gets funded on Kickstarter

As of just a few days ago, it seemed very possible that Sportsfriends -- the multiplayer-focused, four-game compendium that includes Johann Sebastian Joust, BaraBariBall, Super Pole Riders, and Hokra -- wouldn't be able to me...more

J.S. Joust and three others team up for Sportsfriends

Johann Sebastian Joust has been talked up so much that, more than anything, I'm just glad to see it find a reasonable way into our homes. The game -- in addition to BaraBariBall, Hokra, and Super Pole Riders -- has its sights...more

Laser Fury looks like Diablo but neon and radical

I do not mean to suggest that Diablo is not good, but the dreary look never really grabbed me, even with Diablo III's improvements in that respect. Laser Fury, on the other hand, takes a hold of my eyes immediately...more

SteamWorld Heist's first screenshot leaves me wondering

While I tend to get annoyed when studios put out a lone screenshot, I can tolerate the practice depending on the circumstances. Image & Form doesn't have much in the way of assets for SteamWorld Heist, its turn-based foll...more

Particulars explores the subatomic world next month

I always appreciate seeing science represented in games, outside of the typical "heroes need to clean up the mess these mad scientists made" trope. Videogames can be so powerful as tools for learning, and that potential is s...more
