I didn't even start the game without having Durante's fix because I heard the port was that bad. With the fix, it was definitely prettier on my PC than the PS3.
MotionInJoy is a great application to have if you want to use a PS3 controller instead of a 360 controller. (I don't have a 360 controller, plus I played the game on PS3 so I'm used to the controls).
Summonings do fail a lot.
The new content is amazing and the Artorias fight was incredible and the new enemy in the Abyss is probably the best way to farm humanity.
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaank you, I've been looking for a way to get the damn thing to work on my latest laptop (it worked out of the box on my last one) and none of the drivers I found seemed to work. Happy that comment happened to be the top one when I scrolled past this story on the front page.
This was a terrible, but terrible port. If you don't have a 360 controller, YOU ARE FUCKED. There is no way in hell you can play this with a keyboard and mouse, it's just impossible. Granted, steam recommends it, the controller warning messages wasn't there few days ago.
To be honest, I wanted to support them and buy it, but this is just plain bad port. Fuck those retards, not giving them my money.
How are those challenge modes in Arkham working out for ya, m/k master race?
Not quite sure what the problem is entirely, personally if any of you want a good gamepad all you need to do if you already owned a PS3 or a USB xbox controller is plug it in, although you will need to download drivers for the PS3 controller, if you don't you can get a compatible 10$ mayflash adapter for the wii consoles virtual controller which actually works the best for emulating and the like.

Secondly, come back when you realize that for 30$ the average PC Gamer could get anywhere from 5-20 quality games. If you're into the PC gaming scene but overspending you simply aren't into the scene as much as you believe, one of the prime points of a PC is to buy the best components for the value, hence why a good amount of Gaming PC users buy overclockable components and cooling, yes it will cost more if you're buying a whole new computer but if you already happen to own one it's only a 200-300$ upgrade, about the cost of a console to play most ported games at medium to high settings.
Finally, I fail to see how the lack of a developer porting over a quality control scheme should appear as cheapness on the part of any systems owner, it's something that should be expected and any QA test would tell you that.
and yeah, will wait for more display and resolution options before dipping into the PC version.
I just like playing it offline better, and I'm glad it's an option.
Twenty quality games eh? I think that's stretching the definition of "quality" for just about any publisher that would even put twenty titles in a Steam sale.
Take a long hard look at your PC gaming friends and you will realize that 90% of them do overpay for crap, never stress test anything they change or overclock, have more than thirty dollars worth of LEDs and skulls decorating their chassis, and refer to a computer as a "rig." Some of them are likely to be running an unpatched build of Windows XP. I've been what people hilariously refer to as "building" computers and playing games on PC for twenty years and this is just the sad truth of the matter.
Just fyi, I think the summoning problem has to do with the summonee dying before they are able to warp into your world. You may also have a problem if they reapply their sign (Unfortunately, I think the connection process gets reset when people reapply their signs).
My extensive experience with the game, and the fact that you have no problem being invaded, indicate that this is the case.
Mods have fixed my only issues with the game so it's more than perfect for me. $40 well spent.
Perhaps it was a bit unclear before, I was not referring to overclocking components for the "average" PC Gamer but they are a deal for, waiting for sales, and experienced users have proven these types of components to be great deals when they surface for the performance they can attain.
As for the mention of games, I mentioned 5-20 for a reason, 5 being what could be commonly found and bought for <30$ and 20 being the utmost I would ever expect and rather rare, I never mentioned however this was purely off of steam sales although they are a large proponent in the PC Games/Sales market.
If you need a realistic example during the last week the labor day sale had the Square Enix Ultimate Bundle for 9$ with 5 games, then later we had the Frozenbyte Collection for 10$ with 5 games (counting Trine 2 DLC technically as a game) and finally if you bought the Crysis Maximum Edition you would have gotten another 2 games for 7.50$, if perhaps a indie bundle were on sale you would get 4-9 games off that as well.
As for quality I am more or less not defining it as triple AAA, but a solid, enjoyable title, not 80-90+ Metacritic more of 70-75 or higher, preferably however a User Score rating, if we add it up you get about between 12 to 20 games for less then or about equal to 30$, these deals don't happen all the time but it's a fact, being reluctant with spending does remain simply because you can't entirely predict your opportunities on the PC games market, in a way it does support being tight with your cash.
As for when it comes to my friends, and more or less personal ones at that, I myself am the one who gives them the advice before they make the decisions so that's more or less a moot point as I have to the common sense to ask them what precisely they want to do/run and advise them on how much power they will need.
I do agree that there are those who aren't spendthrift and do poor or no research on their decisions. Those who aren't saavy and don't look at the price graphs on amazon for the product last year to figure out when a good price might arrive, and still even without deep research for a majority of would be buyers it can be simple as asking for advice on a more dedicated computing site such as overclock or tomshardware.
that's fine though, as the Durante fix adds support for all resolutions, downscaling (SSAA), SMAA and SSAO. it also allows the DOF effect to be adjusted with amazing results.
if you're a PC gamer and you don't know what any of the above means, i recommend finding out - it's good stuff.
