Image of a retail version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 surfaces photo

A retail version of the PlayStation Network version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 exists. A Capcom-Unity moderator recently pointed out the above image of the retail redemption (box or card) for the game has been posted on Capcom's white board.

Rumors of a Marvel vs. Capcom 2 retail bundle have been swirling since late June when a GameStop listing surfaced. The listing was pulled shortly after it was discovered, but not before others could scribble down the details. Priced at $19.99 and exclusive to the PlayStation 3, the alleged bundle consists of a download code for MvC 2, a DVD filled with various bits of artwork, an eight-page manual with moves list, a one-month subscription to Marvel Digital Comics, and 2000 Capcom-Unity points intended for use for prizes and auctions.

The listing dated the bundle for August 13th, which didn’t jive at the time. Capcom expected the downloadable fighting title to hit Playstation Network on June 29th. Capcom has since confirmed an August 13 launch date, the same day the once-supposed bundle was listed to hit in June.

The text on the bottom right-hand side of the image offers a clue to the validity of the periphery items. When sharpened, we were able to pick out that it is indeed the offer for the one-month subscription to Marvel Digital Comics.

We’ve checked with Capcom for official word on the rest of the items. We'll let you know when we get a response.

[Thanks, DiJoka!]

Well I at the time (many years ago) I just got a decent PC(I bought with my own money ^^) and I wasn't much of a pc gamer, so I tried out counter strike since most people was taking about it turned out didn't like it and I kinda got ripped off I did get to play CS which was is true and half life 1 but I already played it on the ps2 (I know some of you are gonna say its not the same but I had no choice)...as I said before I wasn't much of a pc gamer had no idea about the game back then. I really dislike downloadable games even to this day and dislike steam even more, don't get me wrong there good for the right reasons but personally is a no no like, big example I had Megaman 9 for my 360 now my 360 gone since I got a ps3 but I would of kept my physical copy of MM9 but thats not possible now :/

Hm...I'm kinda thinking of still getting MvC2 on 360, but I still want the DVD and manual, so I might just buy this PS3 package and sell the code off to a PS3 player.

Careful I remember them saying most of the bonuses in the bundle were taken out. I'll try to find out on Wednesday what all comes inside of the package.
