Thanks Jim, that really made my morning. But I do think it is highly suspect that MW2 PC got a 9.5.
As someone who honestly isn't bothered about this game, the controversy has been rather entertaining I must say.
IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES, IT WAS THE WURST OF GAMES
9.5 IS much too high of a score, from what I've played so far, but these reader reviews are simply amazing.
Funny enough though, he does spell "worse" correctly later on in his Presentation review.
"ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH PRETSENTINGS, SOME OF THE WURST PRESENTINGS EVER TO BE HAVE MADE IN THE HISTORY OF COMPUTER GAMES. THE ONLY WAY IT BEEN WORSE IS IF IT STABBED ME IN THE EYE."
Maybe it was a friends sausage trying to stab him in the eye......?
Though I can understand how they feel, removing mod support and custom maps just to flog DLC later is a dick move - but on the bright side they have such revolutionary features as MOUSE CONTROL, INGAME TEXT CHAT and GRAPHICS SETTINGS.
However that kind of thing won't affect the average user, which is what the review aims at, really.
And those comments really don't do us PC gamers any favours, at all. At all.
THE SECOND UGLIEST THING ON THE PLANET, THE FURST OF COURSE BEING BOBBY KOTICKS FAT UGLY PUSS, WHICH HAS TO BE ONE OF THE MOST REVOLTING THINGS ON THE FACE OF THE UNIVERSE.
You just HAVE to trust any review that compares the games graphics to Bobby Koticks fat ugly puss.
They're so used to having their dedicated servers and high player counts that they can't see a well crafted, well thought out game staring them in the face. IWNet was basically created as a way to prevent people from stealing their game, and then creating their own servers to play it on. PC gamers are notorious for this practice, even when their games are consistently cheaper than console games. So IW and Activision decided they were tired of giving PC gamers their game for free, and kicked them to public school with the rest of the console gamers, giving them the same great experience console gamers have. COD4 was great on the console, and so is MW2.
Get ready for a bit of a wakeup call PC gamers, cause MW2 is only the beginning of the end for Dedicated Servers, because other developers are waking up and realizing that they'd rather go with controlled matchmaking than allow you to play their game for free.
Before you guys get on me about being a console gamer, I happen to own, and play COD4 on the PC (legally bought), and I think it's great. But for someone who could care less about Dedicated Servers, I say who needs them.
Seriously, PC gamers need to grow the fuck up, even the avarage XBL user has more brainpower running in their skulls.
since cod2 the cod competitive scene is HUGE. just checked one of the numerous Ladder sites our there and they have over 20 000 teams (cod2+cod4). nearly 10 thousand of the teams are playing actively. they are playing the game under specific competitive mods and dedicated servers. all of them have legal copies of the game, or else they would not be allowed to participate.
after all this years, iw decides to ruin everything for the people that pretty much carried the game to what it is today.
ye no big deal.
