If you like little girls, we've found you a dress-up game! photo

Sometimes we get the most random tips sent in to Destructoid HQ, and sometimes we feel the need to chase them up just in case there's an interesting story at the end of them. Every now and then, our intrepidity backfires badly, like it did this morning when I decided to see what an email advertising a "Gravure Eye Doll" was all about. The link, by the way, is not safe for work. Or anywhere.

What you see above is tame compared to what you're greeted with the moment the "game" finishes loading. I am a difficult man to shock, as you might imagine, but my jaw literally dropped when I saw what must be as close to child pornography as you can get without requiring FBI involvement. Yep, it's a little girl that you can render totally naked, and this is a game.

What's worse (or better, depending on your point of view), you can attach your favorite pubic hair! A range of styles and colors are yours to pick from. Don't worry though, none of them will make her look any older. Besides which, no amount of pubis will stop the image of her bare vulva being burned into your mind.

Before you ask, no, there was no reason for me to share this with you. However, since I've had it inflicted on me, I want to spread the pain around. There's no way I'm suffering this alone. If I have to burn my hard drive clean, we ALL have to burn our hard drives clean.

"Here is where I necessarily play devil's advocate though. Why is "borderline digital pedophilia" NOT okay when borderline digital murder is just fine? Too many people make that distinction, and I don't completely understand it."

Because I'm guessing the purpose of this game is for some kind of sexual titillation. If you go around in a game shooting people - well first of all, there's generally SOME story tied to it. Even in Grand Theft Auto, you've got backstories as to why you're bumping off a certain person. Moreover, those actions have consequences - you draw police attention, other people try to kill you back, etc. People can play violent games and get up and NOT go shoot someone in real life.

But when you're talking about pedo shit, when you're playing a game explicitly FOR the sexual titillation it gives you? That means there's something seriously wrong with you. I might make fun of Second Life players, but if that's how they get their ass, and they're playing around in cyberspace with another adult - hey, fair-do's. In my opinion, the only reason why people would play games like the one in the article is because they honestly DO have a preoccupation with pre-pubescent girls. It's likely someone would play that game at least to temporarily stave off the desire to find an ACTUAL girl that age to mess around with.

To put it more simply - if killing people in a game gives you a boner? Seek help. If playing games involving 12 year-old naked girls gives you a boner? Seek help.

Something I read online a year or so ago.

"The reason why childlike women are perceived as being more attractive, is a biological one: Evolutionary biologists argue that men have an reproductive advantage when preferring young women as mating partners since they are likely to be healthy and still having a long period of fertility ahead of them. Thus, he can have many children with young women which means that he can successfully pass on his genes to his descendants.

However, this idea is more than debatable. But why? Well, we mentioned above that characteristics of mature females contribute to facial attractiveness, too. These are, for instance, high and pronounced cheekbones and concave cheeks (note: this is the opposite of the childlike, round cheeks!). The biological reason for this is that these characteristics signal the man to have found a sexually mature and fertile woman. Some researchers on attractiveness (e.g. Karl Grammer) are convinced that childlike facial characteristics just make female faces look younger, but not more attractive.

In order to examine the so-called "babyfaceness hypothesis", we produced several variants of selected female faces. The variants all had different levels of childlike facial proportions and were judged for attractiveness by test subjects.

This is how we went about: we computed an "average child face" using the four original images. Subsequently, we selected several attractive woman faces. By using the morphing technique we gradually warped the facial shape of the female faces into the shape of the scheme of childlike characteristics. Only the proportions of the faces were manipulated, not the faces itself! We produced six variations of each selected female face:

For each set of female faces, the test subjects were asked to indicate which version they found most attractive. The results of this experiment show clearly that childlike characteristics (large, round eyes, a large curved forehead as well as small short nose and chin) can enhance attractiveness. Only very few (9,5%) test subjects rated mature "original women" as being most attractive. Most of the preferred female faces contained childlike proportions of 10 - 50% (for details see report!). This means that even the most attractive women become even more beautiful, if facial proportions are made more childlike. And again: women who were rated as being most attractive do not exist in reality!"

@tron. Not HAWT, I totally agree. It reminds me of all the worst things about my teenage years: bad anime, and spindly, smelly tweens.

However, it could totally be HAWP. I would not put it past them to do a show on this. They seem to have a trend of to scarring us, as well as entertaining us!

I still don't see why it's possible to want to kill people in a video game but not in real life, but it's not possible to want to undress twelve year olds in a video game but not in real life. This is fake, just like a "murder simulator."

Holy shit, close call! My dad was in my room looking at me surfing the internet while I was reading the article before this one. As I don't like that other people look at me while surfing the net, I decided not to scroll up to the next article, in case some creepy Kotaku-style article pops up. Imagine how right I was!
