Valve is pulling out all the stops to make sure that Left 4 Dead is a huge holiday success, and here's an excellent TV spot which should help ensure that the goal is passed with ease. If you're already getting overexcited for this zombie-themed FPS, then look away now -- you might go into overload.
The guys at Valve clearly know what they have on their hands here -- a game where you can team up with friends and shoot wave after wave of crazed zombies is a game that practically sells itself. All Valve has to do is exactly what this TV spot does -- tell people that there's a zombie apocalypse going down, and they can bring their friends.
These guys have practically got a free pass into top of the sales chart. Jammy bastards.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Already bought my Steam preorder!
after watching TF2 not get updated on the 360(and when it did have a price tag on it) i think i'll stick with the PC.
for ps3... No XBawks or capable PC to play on
sad panda
It needed to slowly increase the number. Start with 3 or four zombies, the shot of one punching through the wall, the shot of one being pinned down, maybe a small crowd of them surrounding the four survivors. The music was perfect in establishing the atmosphere as well. But what would have really sold it would have been to have a small pause before a door opens and a flood of zombies pour out onto the group, the music picking up to be louder and rockier than before.
I think I'm going to go and critique my pants now.
pleae dont burn me at the steak for saying that.
..METAL MUSIC!
Hey, did you see this site called YouTube? You can put videos there and they play properly. Just sayin'
No wonder you're happy there.
If I can convince my buddies to get this: DAY FUCKING ONE.
I'm at work with a huge sugar rush btw...
Plays properly for me.
"Grounds for Divorce" by Elbow. I just checked em out, they're not bad.
EA did Orange Box also.
I'm closing the fucking curtains. WHILE HEAVY METAL PLAYS
I am seriously considering buying a second 360 in November so my bro and I can play this with our friends at the same time. I mean, at the price they're moving these days it is a real consideration.
Was the grizzled voice at the end the same VO actor who does the Solider in TF2?
Does anybody know if it has splitscreen multiplayer? I'm guessing no, but I can't remember hearing a definitive answer either way. As previously stated 'plan A' is to just to go splits on another console with the bro and call it a holiday season gift to ourselves.
Valve games are the only games I've ever played through more than 3 times.
L4D looks endless, and with friends on PC and 360 there's nothing stopping me.
Anyway, thank God for Steam.
