According to a report over at FiringSquad, Sony and Midway have both decided to opt out of the first ever public E for All Expo. The expo will also not be attended by Sega, Capcom, and NCSoft; Microsoft have also yet to decide whether or not they'll participate this year.
The party is not yet over for the expo, which takes place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on October 18-21, as a couple industry heavyweights have agreed to bring chips, soda, and maybe a few games. Nintendo, Electronic Arts, THQ, Konami, Namco, Intel, and NVIDIA have all agreed to show up and make some noise.
So what's the deal here? Will event organizer IDG be hitting the local Rent-A-Center and Blockbuster Videos to populate this gaming convention with ... games? I know Destructoid will be at the event, but we don't have any games to show; perhaps I can bring my copy of Taiko Drum Master and a bottle of Jack Daniels. That'll get the party started.
Who's in?
[Via Next Generation, thanks GoldenDonut]
Anyway, I'm glad sony's not attending (even though im not going to be there) just becuase it show's how much they actully give a shit about their fan-boys.
I'd be really surprised if the remaining exhibitors put any more than a half-assed effort into this show.
oh and btw my rank on DTOID is 666 kewl
You know their cheap asses will only bring plastic cups.
Microsoft Passes On E For All
Last year was pretty fun, and admission was dirt cheap. Not shilling for them, but it may be a better show than E for All.
MS have confirmed they will not be there either....
I think I'm just gonna eat the ticket prices, maybe give away the Video Games live concert tix and just do another vacation maybe in Colorado....at least Jap can offer me TGS to go to still
Who is IDG?
JamesSorensen doesn't read the comments above him
I'll be going to Digital Life on the last day of the show (Sunday). I didn't get a chance to go last year, so I'm hoping this will be teh funs.
@casualweaponry: Let's ditch him and grab a drink. :P
