If E For All falls in a forest and no one is around, does it make a sound? photo

According to a report over at FiringSquad, Sony and Midway have both decided to opt out of the first ever public E for All Expo. The expo will also not be attended by Sega, Capcom, and NCSoft; Microsoft have also yet to decide whether or not they'll participate this year.

The party is not yet over for the expo, which takes place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on October 18-21, as a couple industry heavyweights have agreed to bring chips, soda, and maybe a few games. Nintendo, Electronic Arts, THQ, Konami, Namco, Intel, and NVIDIA have all agreed to show up and make some noise.

So what's the deal here? Will event organizer IDG be hitting the local Rent-A-Center and Blockbuster Videos to populate this gaming convention with ... games? I know Destructoid will be at the event, but we don't have any games to show; perhaps I can bring my copy of Taiko Drum Master and a bottle of Jack Daniels. That'll get the party started.

Who's in?

That's not a bad idea: make E for All into a drunken party of gamers, journalists, developers and publishers. Add some strippers, have Ron give Jade a lapdance, and collect TONS and TONS of delicious secret info in the meantime. XTC for all!

I agree with pew. We need stripers.

Anyway, I'm glad sony's not attending (even though im not going to be there) just becuase it show's how much they actully give a shit about their fan-boys.

It should be called 'E for those who give a shit'

I'd be really surprised if the remaining exhibitors put any more than a half-assed effort into this show.

Completely and utterly off topic, but is anyone going to the Digital Life convention in NYC this year?

Last year was pretty fun, and admission was dirt cheap. Not shilling for them, but it may be a better show than E for All.

Eh, I already bought my tickets to both the show and Video Games Live. Worst-case scenario? Get drunk with fellow Dtoiders and play video games. Doesn't sound too bad to me.

Haha frack you Sony. Go Nintendo! I hope this event rocks out hard. The Big N should use this event to announce something huge since Sony won't be there to sing about their shitty machine with crap all games. I like the 360 but won't mind if MS don't turn up either. Sony's being a party pooper so poop on them!

E for Wii is all this is going to be, nobody is pooping on the event, they just don't want another E3. That was the point of scaling e3 down. E for All is just trying to revive that rediculous spectacle.

What a shame, I thought this would actually be something. Lets at least hope there's some RAWK BAND to play, seeing as EA IS one of the big names going.

Also, did you guys hear that MS isn't going? I bet you didn't, so I'll link because I'm a good commentator.
