id Mobile now games on sale for your iStuffs photo

In honor of QuakeCon 2011, id Software is dropping the prices of all of its mobile games for Apple’s iThings. That’s good news, considering saving money is rad, as are most (if not all) of the id Mobile titles available.

Wolfenstein 3D Classic Platinum, the mobile remake of the game that started it all, is now $.99 (regularly $1.99). Feeling nostalgic? Then you can also pick up DOOM Classic for $1.99 (regularly $6.99). If you like your Doom with a side of leveling up, then Doom II RPG is for you, and it’s only $.99 (regularly $3.99). If pixels make you sick, consider the slick-looking on-rails shooter, Doom Resurrection -- it’s only $1.99 (regularly $6.99).

If you get one of these games, get Doom II RPG, and prepare for it to consume your soul. Or “They Flesh.” Whatever you feel is more appropriate. These games are only on sale until this Sunday, August 15, so make up your mind quick.

Is the Doom RPG really an RPG? For $.99, I'm tempted to get it, but I know nothing about it.

Hmmmm... I already have Doom Classic and don't play it too often (the touch screen controls are fairly serviceable, but still FPSs and iThings just don't go that well together).

Doom II RPG or Doom Resurrection or both? I guess Nick has already given me his recommendation.

Question: if I buy these now and opt to delete them for memory storage reasons, can I re-download them again at a later time for the price I'm paying for them now?

Rather I should say, and no additional cost.

I don't think redownloading is a possibility with iTunes purchases, but you can download them to your iThingy and then copy the apps to your computer for safe keeping.

@ndschroede23:

You can re-download them, provided you sign in to your iTunes account on said device.

I delete and re-download stuff all the time. As long as you've downloaded it once (even if it's free), every time you go to download it again it will be flagged as "purchased".

I can't guarantee that this works the same way on iTunes, but it certainly does on my iPhone!

@topic:

It works that way with iTunes. I mean, as long as the account on it and iWhatever matches. The only way this doesn't work is if Company X/Apple removes the app from the store (gone forever).
