I had a feeling Gears of War 3 was going to be good, but now I know it's going to be awesome!
Actor/rapper Ice-T has revealed that he'll be playing a role in Epic's upcoming third-person shooter. The role was casually mentioned during a live Ustream broadcast; he quickly added "I didn't just say that." After actually saying it, of course.
While this has yet to be confirmed by Epic or Microsoft, as Giant Bomb's Jeff Gerstmann points out, Ice-T doesn't have to lie -- his life is ridiculous enough as it is.

I'd love to see Epic take a page out of DICE's book, and give the characters more lines in bizarre dialogue throughout the game, like Bad Company, which made the characters feel real, and the player appreciate their company alongside.

I think you're missing the point of gears. What you listed is everything that makes gears great IMO. It's like a big dumb action movie, you don't watch them to have a
meaningful experience, you do it because it's rad-ass.
Ummmmm. There's this thing called hip-hop. Ice-T has been a key part of that thing for almost its entire existence. I think he's earned the right to call himself Ice-T. I don't think that it's anything to do with trying to make Gears cool. I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that he actually approached them himself about doing VA for it. This game seems right up his street, or should I say, Hood.
