Where the Wild Things Are is one of my favorite books from when I was a child. The character of Max speaks to me, as I was always something of the willful sort, and I have a bunch of cool Wild Things stuff (including these awesome Munnys I was given for my birthday last month). I'll admit, I'm not terribly excited for the film, but that's okay. I'll always have the book.
And probably the videogame. Even if it does wind up straying far from the path of the original story, I don't care. The opportunity to interact with even a faded shadow of that world which captivated my imagination as a young child is worth the risk that it winds up being crap.
Speaking of said game, we have a trailer for it and a few screenshots. You may find this -- and your supper1 -- after the jump.
1Naughty children do not get supper. If you do not find supper here, perhaps you should go to your room and think about what you've done.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Awwwwww...
One question: Those weird goopy things won't be in the movie, right? I really hope not...
What the fuck is wrong with you?
This looks aweful... I'm sorry; both the movie and the game.
Talk about raping one's childhood.
The DS game is being made by WayForward; AKA: fucking awesome developers.
but it doesn't stop being a quick cash in, so...
It'd probably be fine for a kid these days, but it is not for us.
