Prepare to have your head asploded. I Wanna Be The Guy is a game like nothing you've ever played before. The game follows the quest of The Kid as he tries to become The Guy. He battles through insane modded levels from Mega Man, Zelda, Metroid, Ghosts N Goblins to many more. The boss fights are something else too. From Dracula, Mecha Birdo, Giant Mike Tyson, Bowser/Wart/Dr. Wily Clown Car combo to my personal favorite, a giant green Zangief/Kraid hybrid that shoots Hadoukens out of his mouth and Blankas out of his crotch are among some of the epic boss fights. The game is simply put, beautiful. IWBTG is a tribute to the 8-bit era with extremely frustrating level design and a great musical selection from some classic games. God damnit the game makes no sense, but it looks fun as hell.
I had a quick play at that game a few months ago after hearing about it on 1up's Retronauts podcast....Man that game is evil - Funny to watch people play for the first time though :)

i got soo far in this game. I beat like 4 of the 6 bosses before you go into the house. Then i just stopped.
This game is almost impossible, it's incredibly hard to play especially when you haven't seen how the puzzles are solved in a video. This game has Pygmy's recommendation!
I tried it a while ago, but couldn't get past the first level. I'm not enough of a masochist to keep trying.

I started playing this game when it was still in beta(alpha?) now I'm almost the guy but The Guy is impossible so I stopped playing. It's the first time a challenge stopped me from finishing a game. The game is super easy compared to The Guy. I might comeback and beat him, but I needed a break from the insanity. But I recommend this game to everyone, especially to your younger sibblings to make them cry.

I like the look of the game (especially the boss part), but I have to admit, the game looks so unfair to play. I mean, all those jumps... O_O'
On one hand I couldn't be happier about this game. On the other hand, I'm enraged that it was made by some one other than me.

The guy playing that is incredible, I would have most likely encountered the game over screen about a hundred times before even making it to that point.
It's like one big clusterfuck of fanservice. Enjoyed. Would watch again.
HOW THE FUCK DO YOU JUMP IN THIS GAME! I hit all the keys and all I found was the shooting button and one that just makes you explode. Why would there be a key that blows you up and makes you restart? That's so awesomely stupid. I hate but I love it because it's stupid!

I. LOVE THIS GAME. I have to say, every time I make it past a particularly hard though obviously dangerous portion only to be killed by something I couldn't possibly have seen coming, like the falling star just before Mike Tyson, I laugh out loud. Its like the whole game is just about incredibly difficult platforming coupled with crazy ways to kick you in the nuts
they should release this as an XBLA game

I love this game. I can't beat the part with the clouds but god I love this game.
Somehow my brothers have cleared the first boss. I took a different path than they did, though.
IWBTG is great.
Note that there's 3 paths you can go from the get-go. You can actually make it through the big spike room, skips zangief too I think...

It was made in Multimedia Fusion 2, according to the site. It's a distant successor to what I know as Klik & Play, which was created in the Windows 3.1 days.
