I think it's mostly 343's approach. They've been pretty quiet on the 3D so far, making it seem like a "sure, we can do that" type feature. It's a bonus, not a selling point. The titles that get burned on 3D are the ones that come off like "OUR COCKS ARE HARD FOR 3D. YOURS SHOULD BE TOO" and try to present themselves as justification for buying a new TV.
Uhhh, so? Any engineer and programmer worth their salt could have made it work. At the very least, they could have at least had the LAN MP be the Halo 1 MP as well as the Reach shit.
@Tarvu
The multiplayer in this is just a map pack. Basically, it's just the Halo 3: ODST MP disc, but with Reach instead.
It is NOT separate from Reach. It is a Map Pack for Reach that you can download off the disc. You can play the maps from the CEA disc, but only those maps. In Reach Matchmaking, there will be separate playlists that contain this maps as well as the updated gametypes provided with the Title Update (Late September). The maps will also be in playlists using the current Reach Settings as well.
The CE MP code was written in a week. There was no Xbox Live, all it had was LAN. There was no lag or anything else that is associated with internet connections. To "update" the MP, they would have had to rewrite the entire thing to work, and it wouldn't be the same, so people would still bitch about it.
Well that's fine and all, but so far, except for when they announced it, their only justification for it has been for not splitting the playerbase. Most people don't know that detail because they've only said that once. Every interview after that they pull that playbase bullshit.
@nanowerx
lol butthurt
WTF?! You missed the two best Halos.
@VoltySquirrel:
Your assessment of network programming is laughable. I would avoid making bold statements about something of which you clearly have little to no understanding.
Have you been to bungie.net? 75% of the Reach board is bitching about Reach. I agree with you, I liked it, but I still prefer Halo 1 MP.
I skipped out on OTSD and Reach but this may get me to go back to the series.
Any fan of the series will grow an immense boner over this. Mine just got bigger for it. EVERY detail is there and is well worth the $40.
sure they will, just pop in your halo 1 disc and enjoy....:P

good points, I mean we should all remember that tech 10 years ago isn't what it's at today...
but at the risk of sounding obvious.... 343 COULD HAVE given us the original multiplayer with the graphics updated only and gotten around that pesky 'live' issue by making it... GASP split screen / lan only... you know... kinda like how it was 10 years ago... for those of us who actually like playing with people in the same room.
Juss my thoughts... though take em for what they're worth, I'm not really into the current MP anyways...
It's gonna' cost $40! Don't act like if every 360 owner has to buy it, if not the 360 will RROD on Nov. 16th....
