Surprisingly little hate for 3D in this article. Really happy to see that. Usually it gets shit on, which is kinda disappointing. Thanks for keeping an open mind, Hamza.
The lack of original styled MP saddened me immensely. Yeah yeah, don't split the player base, blah blah. Shut up. Halo 1 MP was the best in the series in my opinion not including it pissed me off to no end.
Damn it. I've said this too many times. 343 stated on the day CEA was announced, that besides splitting up the player base, CE MP does NOT play the same over Live, like it does over LAN...
So... is the multiplayer actually separate from the Halo Reach multiplayer? Because I don't think it is and I am sick of seeing it reported as such.

Uhhh, so? Any engineer and programmer worth their salt could have made it work. At the very least, they could have at least had the LAN MP be the Halo 1 MP as well as the Reach shit.

The CE MP code was written in a week. There was no Xbox Live, all it had was LAN. There was no lag or anything else that is associated with internet connections. To "update" the MP, they would have had to rewrite the entire thing to work, and it wouldn't be the same, so people would still bitch about it.

Well that's fine and all, but so far, except for when they announced it, their only justification for it has been for not splitting the playerbase. Most people don't know that detail because they've only said that once. Every interview after that they pull that playbase bullshit.

If they plan to sell this for $50-$60, I'm not getting it. I already have the original Halo, so this shouldn't be much different excluding online play.

they don't want to "split the player base" because NOBODY would be playing reach afterwards... such garbage excuse of a game.
Wtf is with all the reach hate? Can someone tell me why they feel its garbage? Like, with real reasons. It's me and my groups favorite halo since the first, so I'm genuinely curious. I only see this hate on dtoid, but never seen legitimate complaints.
Reach is a very well made game, just ignore the haters. As for people talking about already owning Halo: Nobody is telling you to buy the game, so shut up. I personally am willing to pay $40 (yes, it is in a lower price band if you research before posting dumbfuck comments) for a remake of Halo which will run better on my Xbox 360 than the original does and support online co-op.

My lord, I didn't know there was so much hate for Reach. It's easily my favorite followed by Halo 1 and then ODST. Anyways, I can't wait to pick this up. More Halo is always good in my book.
My friends and I have had no end of laughs (and cussing) thanks to the Halo games on the 360. Of course I'm getting this.
Yeah pistols + shotguns in Halo 1 MP. Was pretty much perfect. The second they made the pistol less powerful and brought in swords it lost something. Don't get me wrong, still tons of fun, but just not the same.
I skipped out on OTSD and Reach but this may get me to go back to the series.

Marines in firefight? That'll be a handicap for sure. The Marines in the Halo games have always seemed to be "full on retard" %100 of the time. Prepare to watch them suicide/betray once catch is turned on.

Any fan of the series will grow an immense boner over this. Mine just got bigger for it. EVERY detail is there and is well worth the $40.

good points, I mean we should all remember that tech 10 years ago isn't what it's at today...
but at the risk of sounding obvious.... 343 COULD HAVE given us the original multiplayer with the graphics updated only and gotten around that pesky 'live' issue by making it... GASP split screen / lan only... you know... kinda like how it was 10 years ago... for those of us who actually like playing with people in the same room.
Juss my thoughts... though take em for what they're worth, I'm not really into the current MP anyways...
